Shanghai East Railway Station
Shanghai East railway station () is a planned new station in the Pudong New Area of Shanghai. It will be located beside Shanghai Pudong International Airport, forming a future major intermodal passenger transport hub. Shanghai East Railway Station is expected to be completed and put into operation within 2024. Transportation On December 15, 2019, construction of the second phase of the Nantong–Shanghai railway from Taicang to Situan began, passing through Shanghai Pudong New Area to establish Shanghai East railway station. Shanghai East railway station will be the second largest railway station in Shanghai after Shanghai Hongqiao railway station. Pudong New District
Pudong is a district of Shanghai located east of the Huangpu, the river which flows through central Shanghai. The name ''Pudong'' was originally applied to the Huangpu's east bank, directly across from the west bank or Puxi, the historic city center. It now refers to the broader Pudong New Area, a state-level new area which extends all the way to the East China Sea. The traditional area of Pudong is now home to the Lujiazui Finance and Trade Zone and the Shanghai Stock Exchange and many of Shanghai's best-known buildings, such as the Oriental Pearl Tower, the Jin Mao Tower, the Shanghai World Financial Center, and the Shanghai Tower. Shanghai Pudong International Airport is one of two international airports serving Shanghai and a major aviation hub of East Asia. Airport Link Line (Shanghai)
Airport link line is a commuter rail line currently under construction on the Shanghai Metropolitan Area Intercity Railway, Shanghai Suburban Railway, and will be run by China Railway. It runs from Shanghai Hongqiao railway station, Hongqiao railway station in Minhang District to Shanghai East railway station in Pudong.
