Bhasha Shaheed Abdus Salam Stadium ( bn, ভাষা শহীদ আব্দুস সালাম স্টেডিয়াম) also known as Shaheed Salam Stadium is a football stadium in Feni, Bangladesh. The stadium is named to honor the 1952 Bengali Language Movement martyr Abdus Salam. The stadium is a regular of host of national day parade, professional as well as district level football league matches. Feni is a district located in southeastern Bangladesh. It was a part of the Greater Noakhali, Comilla, Chittagong and Tripura. , the district's estimated population stood at 1,437,371, making it the ninth-most populous district in Chittagong Division. The administrative hub of the district is in Feni City, which also serves as the headquarters of Feni Sadar Upazila in the central section of the district. The original name of the district was Shamshernagar, which served as a mahakuma under the district of Noakhali (greater part), Comilla (few part) and Chittagong District (at rest) until 6 December 1984. Feni Soccer Club
Feni Soccer Club was a Bangladeshi football club based in Feni. It was supposed to play in the Dhaka Senior Division Football League, the 3nd-tier league of the country, in 2018. 5,000 capacity Shahid Salam Stadium was their home ground. After 2018-2019 BCL season, the club has been relegated to Dhaka Senior Division Football League. The club was dissolved in 2017. Abdus Salam (language Martyr)
Abdus Salam (27 November 1925 — 7 April 1952) was a demonstrator who died during the Bengali Language Movement demonstrations which took place in the erstwhile East Bengal (currently Bangladesh), Pakistan in 1952. He is considered a martyr in Bangladesh. Early life Salam was born on 27 November 1925 in Laxmanpur (renamed 'Salam Nagar'), Matubhuiyan, Daganbhuiyan, Feni, East Bengal, British Raj. He studied in Krishnarampur Primary School, then at Matubhuiyan Kalimullah Minor School. He then joined the Daganbhuiyan Kemal Atatürk High School but dropped out at class 10 because of financial constraints. Career Salam went to Kolkata where he stayed with his cousin and her husband who worked in the Port of Kolkata. Salam was able to get a job in the port. The National Football Championship is a semi-professional association football tournament in Bangladesh, contested by districts and government institutions of the country. During the seasons ranging from 2000 to 2006, the wide-open national cup tournament was played by club champions from different districts (Chittagong, Rajshahi, Barishal and Syhlet) along with the top three teams of each season from the country's top division at the time, the Dhaka Premier Division League (Dhaka League).
