"Seventeen" is a song by English electronic music group Ladytron. It was released as the first single from their second album ''Light & Magic'' (2002). Content The song is known for its minimalistic lyrics, that consist only of: "They only want you when you're seventeen / When you're twenty-one, you're no fun / They take a Polaroid and let you go / Say they'll let you know, so come on". A new version "Seventeen 05", made by the band, featured on "Destroy Everything You Touch" single. Music video The music video of "Seventeen" featured the band playing the song in a special black room, that includes some neon lights. Reuben Wu
Reuben Wu (born 1975) is a British artist, photographer, musician, and industrial designer. He is also known as a keyboardist, songwriter, and producer for the electronic band Ladytron. Biography Reuben Wu was born in Liverpool in 1975, the son of Hongkonger immigrants. He trained in industrial design at Sheffield Hallam University, graduating in 1997. Meanwhile, he met Daniel Hunt in Liverpool in 1994; they formed Ladytron in 1999, along with Mira Aroyo and Helen Marnie. Wu finished his MSc in 1998 at the University of Liverpool. He worked as an industrial designer until going full-time with the band in 2002. Wu hand drew the artwork of the UK edition of Ladytron's first album '' 604'' and began to document his travels on tour with the band via photography. His visual art career began in 2012 once the band took a break and he was able to focus full-time on his own creative output. BBC Three
BBC Three is a British free-to-air public broadcast television channel owned and operated by the BBC. Felix is regarded as a member of the second wave of Chicago house Musical career Early life Stallings developed an interest in the emergent Chicago house music scene at a young age. Slam (band)
Slam are a Scottish producer/ DJ duo from Glasgow, Scotland, consisting of Stuart McMillan (born 1966, Glasgow) and Orde Meikle (born 1964, Oxford). They are co-founders of Soma Quality Recordings. Their music style consists of house and techno. History McMillan and Meikle's first club event was a weekly Thursday night called Black Market, in the Glasgow club, Fury Murrys. They played a mix of house, funk and rap. In early 1988, they were approached by Steven Sleepman (aka Steven Workman), after he heard his first acid house track on DJ Segun's late night show on Radio Clyde. From November 2001 to November 2018, the London nightclub fabric ran a monthly mix compilation series. Mixed by a variety of emerging and established DJs, the two series were entitled ''fabric'' and ''FABRICLIVE'' respectively. The compilation mixes were released independently by fabric on an alternating monthly basis.
