''The Sensational Spider-Man'' is a comic book series starring Spider-Man published by Marvel Comics for 35 issues (#0–33, with # -1 published in July 1997 between #17 and #18), from January 1996 until November 1998. Publication history ''The Sensational Spider-Man'' title was first used for various reprints, including ''Marvel Treasury Edition'' #14 (1977), 22 (1979) and 27 (1980) which featured various reprints from ''Marvel Team-Up'' and ''The Amazing Spider-Man'', a trade paperback in 1988 featuring Frank Miller's Spider-Man work, and a prestige format one-shot special called ''The Sensational Spider-Man: Nothing Can Stop the Juggernaut'' () in 1989 which reprinted ''The Amazing Spider-Man'' issues #229 and #230. Ben Reilly
Benjamin "Ben" Reilly (), also known as the Scarlet Spider, is a fictional superhero appearing in American comic books published by Marvel Comics. Grown in a lab by the Miles Warren / Jackal, he is a clone of Peter Parker / Spider-Man tasked with fighting the hero but instead becoming an ally, later even regarded as a "brother". Created by writer Gerry Conway, the character first appeared in ''The Amazing Spider-Man'' #149 (October 1975) and is seemingly killed in the same issue. The character returned and featured prominently in the 1994-96 "Clone Saga" storyline, adopting the "Scarlet Spider" alias with a costume similar to Spider-Man's consisting of a red spandex bodysuit and mask complemented by a blue sleeveless hoodie sweatshirt adorned with a large spider symbol on both sides, along with a utility belt and bulkier web-shooters. Marvel Knights is an imprint of Marvel Comics that contained standalone material taking place inside the Marvel Universe ( Earth-616). The imprint originated in 1998 when Marvel outsourced four titles (''Black Panther'', ''Punisher'', '' Daredevil'' and ''Inhumans'') to Joe Quesada and Jimmy Palmiotti's company Event Comics; Event hired the creative teams for the Knights line while Marvel published them. Onslaught (Marvel Comics)
Onslaught is a fictional character appearing in American comic books published by Marvel Comics. Onslaught was written as a sentient psionic entity created from the consciousness of two mutants: Professor X, Professor Charles Xavier and Magneto (Marvel Comics), Magneto. During a battle between the X-Men and Magneto's Acolytes (comics), Acolytes, Professor Xavier used his Telepathy, telepathic powers to shut down Magneto's mind, rendering him catatonic. It was explained through the Onslaught crossover series that the darkest aspect of Magneto's mind escaped into Xavier's subconscious, where it "merged" with Xavier's own darker nature to eventually grow into a separate persona of its own.
