Semafor is a theatre in Prague, Czech Republic, established by Jiří Suchý and Ferdinand Havlík in 1959. Suchý has performed there for many years and is the current owner. Ferdinand Havlík
Ferdinand Havlík (17 June 1928 – 28 October 2013) was a Czech composer, and clarinet player. In 1959, Havlík and actor Jiří Suchý co-founded the Semafor musical theater in Prague. Havlík also became Semafor's head composer following the death of Jiří Šlitr in 1969. In addition to Semafor, he worked as a film composer and started a swing band in the 1970s. Radio Prague International ( cs, Český rozhlas 7 – Radio Praha) is the official international broadcasting station of the Czech Republic. Broadcasting first began on August 31, 1936 near the spa town of Poděbrady. Radio Prague broadcasts in six languages: English, German, French, Spanish, Czech and Russian. It broadcasts programmes about the Czech Republic on satellite and on the Internet. In 2021, Rospotrebnadzor blocked the website of Radio Prague International in Russia due to a report about Jan Palach from 2001. Programming The station broadcasts a total of 24 hours' worth of programmes per day, 3 hours of which are new programmes (one new 30-minute programme in each of the six languages); the remaining 21 hours are rebroadcasts. Hana Hegerová (20 October 1931 – 23 March 2021) was a Slovak singer and actress. Often referred to as the Queen of Czechoslovak chanson, she gained popularity primarily as a singer of chansons. Outside of her homebase, Hegerová has attained a recognition especially in German-speaking countries. She lived in Prague, Czech Republic. Biography Born Carmen Mária Štefánia Farkašová, her father, Ján Farkaš, was a bank clerk of Jewish descent. From the mother's side she comes from an old and important lower aristocratic family - a very old gentry family Čelko from the village Čelkova Lehota, which is located in northwestern Slovakia, in the district of Považská Bystrica. From 1937 to 1942 Hegerová attended ballet school at the National Theater in Bratislava.
