Selva Erdener
Selva Erdener is Turkish operatic soprano singer with the Turkish State Opera and Ballet. She studied at the Gazi University and attended conservatory at Hacettepe University in her hometown of Ankara. As a soloist with the Turkish State Opera she has performed in various works including Gluck's ''Orfeo ed Euridice'', Puccini's '' La Boheme'', '' Faust'' by Charles Gounod, Donizetti's '' Don Pasquale'', ''I Pagliacci'' by Ruggero Leoncavallo, several Mozart operas (including '' Die Zauberflöte'', ''Don Giovanni'', '' Le nozze di Figaro'', '' Cosi fan tutte''). Erdener performed the soprano vocals in "İnsan İnsan", a centuries old poem by the Alevi poet that was set to music by the Turkish composer Fazıl Say. Turkish People
The Turkish people, or simply the Turks ( tr, Türkler), are the world's largest Turkic ethnic group; they speak various dialects of the Turkish language and form a majority in Turkey and Northern Cyprus. Kalan Müzik or Kalan Music for the West is a Turkish independent record label company based in Istanbul. It was founded in 1991 by Hasan Saltık. It specializes in releasing Saltık's recordings of classical and traditional ethnic and folk music from Turkey and the surrounding region. It is sometimes listed as Kalan Ses ("Kalan Audio" or "Kalan Sound"). Kalan has annual revenues of $3 million, and has released more than 400 albums. Fazıl Say
Fazıl Say (; born 14 January 1970 in Ankara) is a Turkish pianist and composer. Life and career Fazıl Say was born in 1970. His father, Ahmet Say was an author and musicologist. His mother, Gürgün Say was a pharmacist. His grandfather Fazıl Say with whom he shares the same name with was a member of the Spartakusbund. Say was a child prodigy, who was able to do basic arithmetic with 4-digit numbers at the age of two. His father, having found out that he was playing the melody of "Daha Dün Annemizin" (Turkish version of Ah! vous dirai-je, maman) on a makeshift flute with no prior training, enlisted the help of Ali Kemal Kaya, an oboist and family friend. Alevism or Anatolian Alevism (; tr, Alevilik, ''Anadolu Aleviliği'' or ''Kızılbaşlık''; ; az, Ələvilik) is a local Islamic tradition, whose adherents follow the mystical Alevi Islamic ( ''bāṭenī'') teachings of Haji Bektash Veli, who is supposed to have taught the teachings of Ali and the Twelve Imams.
