Sean Fraser (politician)
Sean Simon Andrew Fraser (born June 1, 1984) is a Canadian politician who has served as the minister of immigration, refugees and citizenship since October 26, 2021. A member of the Liberal Party, Fraser has represented the riding of Central Nova in the House of Commons of Canada since the 2015 federal election. Early life and education Raised in Merigomish in Pictou County, Nova Scotia, Fraser earned a Bachelor of Science degree at St. Francis Xavier University in 2006. He then studied law at Dalhousie University and at Leiden University in the Netherlands, graduating in 2009. Legal career He spent three years working in Calgary as an associate at Blake, Cassels & Graydon LLP, and also did work related to the ''Promotion of Access to Information Act'' for a NGO in South Africa. Peter Gordon MacKay (born September 27, 1965) is a Canadian lawyer and politician. He was a Member of Parliament from 1997 to 2015 and has served as Minister of Justice and Attorney General (2013–2015), Minister of National Defence (2007–2013), and Minister of Foreign Affairs (2006–2007) in the Cabinet of Canada under Prime Minister Stephen Harper. A Bachelor of Science (BS, BSc, SB, or ScB; from the Latin ') is a bachelor's degree awarded for programs that generally last three to five years. Pictou County is a county in the province of Nova Scotia, Canada. It was established in 1835, and was formerly a part of Halifax County from 1759 to 1835. It had a population of 43,657 people in 2021, a decline of 0.2 percent from 2016. Furthermore, its 2016 population is only 88.11% of the census population in 1991. 2015 Canadian Federal Election
The 2015 Canadian federal election held on October 19, 2015, saw the Liberal Party, led by Justin Trudeau, win 184 seats, allowing it to form a majority government with Trudeau becoming the next prime minister. The election was held to elect members to the House of Commons of the 42nd Canadian Parliament.
