Sclerolobium Hypoleucum
''Sclerolobium hypoleucum'' is a species of tree in the family Fabaceae. It is found in the ' or plains of eastern Colombia and Venezuela, usually in riparian or inundation forests. As with other members of the genus ''Sclerolobium'', this species is vulnerable due to indiscriminate logging for construction and craft wood. Its popularity is due to the wood being dense and heavy, making it durable for outdoor use. In Colombia the tree is known locally as ' and can be found in the inundation forests along the Río Meta and the Río el Bita in the Departamentos of Meta, Casanare and Vichada. Propagation is by seed. The rosids are members of a large clade (monophyletic group) of flowering plants, containing about 70,000 species, more than a quarter of all angiosperms. George Bentham
George Bentham (22 September 1800 – 10 September 1884) was an English botanist, described by the weed botanist Duane Isely as "the premier systematic botanist of the nineteenth century".
