The School of American Ballet (SAB) is the most renowned ballet school in the United States. School of American Ballet is the associate school of the New York City Ballet, a ballet company based at the Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts in New York City. Jack Anderson (dance Critic)
Jack Anderson (born June 15, 1935) is an American poet, dance critic, and dance historian. He is well known for his numerous reviews of dance performances in ''The New York Times'' and ''Dance Magazine'' as well as for his scholarly studies in dance history and for eleven volumes of poetry. Kay Mazzo
Kay Mazzo (born January 17, 1946) is an American former ballet dancer and educator. In 1961, she joined Jerome Robbins' company, Ballets USA. The following year, she joined the New York City Ballet, and was promoted to principal dancer in 1969. She created roles for George Balanchine and Robbins, before retiring from performing in 1981. She then joined the permanent faculty of the School of American Ballet in 1983, named co-chairman of faculty in 1997 and chair of faculty in 2018. She stepped down from the position in June 2022, but continues to teach. Early life Mazzo was born on January 17, 1946, in Chicago, Illinois. Jonathan Stafford
Jonathan Stafford is an American ballet dancer and artistic director. He danced with the New York City Ballet (NYCB) as a principal dancer until his retirement in 2014, then he served as a ballet master. He became the artistic director of NYCB in 2019. Early life Stafford was born in Carlisle, Pennsylvania. He trained at the Central Pennsylvania Ballet. He attended summer intensives at the School of American Ballet in 1996 and 1997, then stayed in New York City as a full time student. He also graduated from Professional Children's School. Aleksandra Dionisyevna Danilova (''Russian'': Александра Дионисьевна Данилова; November 20, 1903 – July 13, 1997) was a Russian-born prima ballerina, who became an American citizen. In 1989, she was recognized for lifetime achievements in ballet as a Kennedy Center Honoree. Peter Martins (born 27 October 1946) is a Danish ballet dancer and choreographer. Martins was a principal dancer with the Royal Danish Ballet and with the New York City Ballet, where he joined George Balanchine, Jerome Robbins, and John Taras as balletmaster in 1981.
