''Cold War Night Life'' is the 1982 debut album by Rational Youth Rational Youth was a Canadian new wave Synth-pop band that was originally active between 1981 and 1986, and at various points up until the end of 2021. History Rational Youth was formed in 1981 in Montreal, Quebec, by synthesizer players Tracy ..., containing their most well known song, " Saturdays in Silesia". Long out of print, it was re-released by EMI on CD in 1997 after an e-mail campaign by fans. It was subsequently re-released by Universal Music in 2019. The online magazine and record label, Cold War Night Life, was named after the album. In 2017, it released a tribute album, ''Heresy'', that featured a number of tracks from ''Cold War Night Life'' performed by electronic artists from Canada, Germany, Australia, Sweden, Norway and the UK. Tracy Howe
Tracy Howe (born 16 February 1952) is a Canadian musician, singer and songwriter with the band Rational Youth, and previously The Normals and Heaven Seventeen. Howe has been a member of Rational Youth from 1981 to 1986 and 1997 to 2002 and 2009–present . Early life Tracy Howe was born in Toronto, Ontario. His father, John Howe, was a film producer and his mother, Mary Sheppard, was a stage actress. In 1952 Tracy and his family moved to London, England. In 1956, when Tracy was 4 they moved to Ottawa, Canada. In 1957 the family moved to Ville St-Laurent, Quebec and in 1959 moved again to Pointe-Claire, Quebec where Tracy lived until he left home in 1970 at age 18. Tracy has been playing music in bands since he was 15. Bill Vorn
Bill Vorn (born 1959) is a Canadian artist, musician and professor known for his robotic artworks. Vorn was also a member of the band Rational Youth from 1981 to 1983. Life Vorn was born Yves Bilodeau in 1959 in Montreal, Quebec. In 1981, Vorn was a founding member of the Montreal electronic music group Rational Youth.
