Sarah Jane Oates is violinist and associate leader at the Philharmonia Orchestra in London, United Kingdom Background Oates was born in Johannesburg, South Africa on 26 June 1976. The KwaZulu-Natal Philharmonic Orchestra (KZNPO) is a professional orchestra based in Durban, South Africa. It was founded in 1983 under the name Natal Philharmonic Orchestra (NPO). Het Balletorkest (literal translation, ''The Ballet Orchestra'') is a Dutch symphony orchestra, based in Amsterdam, Netherlands, affiliated with Het Nationale Ballet and the Nederlands Dans Theater. Pinchas Zukerman
Pinchas Zukerman ( he, פנחס צוקרמן, born 16 July 1948) is an Israeli-American violinist, violist and conductor. Life and career Zukerman was born in Tel Aviv, to Jewish parents and Holocaust survivors Yehuda and Miriam Lieberman Zukerman. He began his musical studies at age four, on the recorder. His father then taught him to play the clarinet and then the violin at age eight. Early studies were at the Samuel Rubin Academy of Music (now the Buchmann-Mehta School of Music). Isaac Stern and Pablo Casals learned of Zukerman's violin talent during a 1962 visit to Israel. Zukerman subsequently moved to the United States that year to study at the Juilliard School under Stern and Ivan Galamian. He made his New York City debut in 1963. In 1967, he shared the Leventritt Prize with the Korean violinist Kyung-wha Chung. Yossi Zivoni
Yossi Zivoni (born Joseph Krasilshikoff) is a violinist, born in Tel Aviv of parents, both of whom were doctors. His middle-class upbringing instilled in him a passion for music and he began to play the flute. At the age of six, while playing his flute on the balcony of his house, he attracted the attention of the violin teacher Rivka Minkova, who immediately knocked on the door and proposed violin lessons. After six months of playing on a quarter size violin, Yossi gave his first public performance in Tel Aviv. Zivoni went on to study with Odeon Partos, under whom he attended and graduated from the Jerusalem Academy of Music and Dance. Zivoni then studied at the Brussels Conservatoire under André Gertler, from where he graduated with the highest honours. By now he had already been a winner at the Paganini Competition In Genoa, the Bavarian Radio Competition in Munich, and the Queen Elisabeth Competition in Brussels in 1963.
