Sandy Stewart (footballer)
Alexander Stewart (born 14 October 1965 in Bellshill) is a Scottish football player and coach. Stewart played as a full-back for Hearts, Kilmarnock, Airdrieonians, Partick Thistle and Airdrie United. He became the latter club's first manager, and has been an assistant manager at several clubs in Scotland, England, the United States and India, working with Owen Coyle. Playing career Early years Stewart grew up supporting Rangers and trained as a welder on leaving school. He began his career with Eastwood Juveniles before joining Pollok of the Junior grade in 1986, aged 20. Over a year later, he joined Heart of Midlothian. However, in his spell at Tynecastle he only made one appearance, in the East of Scotland Shield in May 1988. He then moved on to Kilmarnock where he played in seven matches towards the end of the 1988–89 season and scored his first senior goal, although at its conclusion the club were relegated to the third division on goal difference. Bellshill
Bellshill (pronounced "Bells hill") is a town in North Lanarkshire in Scotland, southeast of Glasgow city centre and west of Edinburgh. Other nearby localities are Motherwell to the south, Hamilton, South Lanarkshire, Hamilton to the southwest, Viewpark to the west, Holytown to the east and Coatbridge to the north. The town of Bellshill itself (including the villages of Orbiston and Mossend) has a population of about 20,650. Chennaiyin Football Club is an Indian professional football club based in Chennai, Tamil Nadu. The club competes in the Indian Super League, the top flight of Indian football. The club was founded in August 2014 during the inaugural season of the Indian Super League. 1992 Scottish Cup Final
The 1992 Scottish Cup Final was played between Rangers and Airdrieonians, at Hampden Park, Glasgow, on 9 May 1992. Rangers won the match 2–1. They opened the scoring with a goal by Mark Hateley in the 30th minute, a finish from six yards after a low cross from the left. Ally McCoist made it 2–0 with a half volley, before Andy Smith scored a consolation goal from outside the box. Rangers' route to the final was unusual in that they faced Scottish Premier Division opposition in every round, beating 1990 winners Aberdeen, 1991 winners Motherwell, St Johnstone and 1989 winners Celtic before facing Airdrie. Tynecastle Stadium
Tynecastle Park is a football stadium in the Gorgie area of Edinburgh, which is the home ground of Scottish Professional Football League club Heart of Midlothian (Hearts). It has also hosted Scotland international matches, and been used as a neutral venue for Scottish Cup and Scottish League Cup semi-finals. Scottish Junior Football Association
The Scottish Junior Football Association (SJFA) is an affiliated national association of the Scottish Football Association and is the governing body for the junior grade of football in Scotland. The term "junior" refers to the level of football played, not the age of the players. The closest equivalent terminology would be non-League football in England, the difference being that junior football in Scotland was not similarly integrated into its football league system until 2021. Owen Coyle
Owen Columba Coyle (born 14 July 1966) is a professional football manager and former player who is currently the manager of Scottish Championship club Queen's Park. He played as a striker for several clubs in England and Scotland, and made one appearance for the Republic of Ireland national team. Coyle began his career at Dumbarton, and also played for Clydebank and Airdrieonians before joining English club Bolton Wanderers in 1993. He appeared for Bolton in the Premier League before a return to Scotland with Dundee United. He went on to play for several other Scottish clubs, including Motherwell, Dunfermline Athletic, Falkirk and St Johnstone. Qualifying by descent, he played for the Republic of Ireland under-21s and B team before he made one full international appearance in 1994.
