Sam Dorman
Sam Dorman (born August 30, 1991) is a retired American diver. He represented his country at the 2016 Summer Olympics where he, along with his diving partner Michael Hixon, won a silver medal in the 3-meter springboard synchro event. Dorman attended the University of Miami. Early life Sam Dorman was born to Marla and Paul Dorman and grew up in Tempe, Arizona. He has a brother living in Australia who plays for Collingwood Football Club in the Australian Football League in Australia. He attended Marcos de Niza High School in Tempe, and then went to University of Miami where he majored in mechanical engineering. Dorman began learning to dive when he was eight, and started to compete in diving competition when he was nine. Michael Hixon
Michael Hixon (born July 16, 1994) is an American diver. He is a two-time Olympic medalist, having won the silver medal with Sam Dorman in the men's synchronized 3-meter springboard event at the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro and the silver medal with Andrew Capobianco at the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo in the same event. Early life and education Hixon was born on July 16, 1994, in Amherst, Massachusetts, to Mandy and David Hixon. He has an older brother, Matthew. Hixon's parents have both coached in American collegiate sports. His father was the head coach for the men's basketball team at Amherst College. His mother, an All-American diver at Ohio State University, helped foster his interest in diving after he joined her at a diving practice while she was a diving coach at Amherst College. Jack David Laugher ( ; born 30 January 1995) is a British diver competing for Great Britain and England. A specialist on springboard, he competes in individual springboard events, and in synchronised events with Chris Mears, Daniel Goodfellow and Anthony Harding. Laugher and Mears became Britain's first diving Olympic champions by winning a gold medal in the men's synchronised 3m springboard event at the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio, an achievement many had expected double world 10m champion Tom Daley would achieve first. Cao Yuan (; born 7 February 1995) is a Chinese Diving (sport), diver and an Olympic gold medalist, having won three golds, one silver and one bronze in the Olympics. He competed for Team China at the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing, the 2012 Summer Olympics in London, and the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio. Chris Mears (diver)
Christopher James Mears (born 7 February 1993) is a British diver and DJ/Producer from Burghfield Common, near Reading, Berkshire. He competed at the 2016 Summer Olympics in the synchronised 3m springboard event with Jack Laugher and won gold, the first Olympic gold medal for Britain in diving. Mears has won two further golds in Men's synchronized 3 metre springboard with Laugher at the Commonwealth Games in 2014 and 2018, one gold and one silver at the European Championships, and one bronze at the World Championships. Kristian Ipsen (born October 20, 1992) is an American diver, who has been diving competitively since 1998. Diving alongside Troy Dumais, they took the silver medal in the synchronized 3 meter springboard at the 2009 World Aquatics Championships and the bronze medal at the 2012 Summer Olympics. The men's synchronised 3 metre springboard diving competition at the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro took place on 10 August 2016 at the Maria Lenk Aquatic Center in Barra da Tijuca. Competition format The competition was held in a single stage with each two-person team making six rounds of dives. There were eleven judges scoring each dive made by each team - three judges for each diver, six in total; and five judges for synchronisation.
