Salza (Saale)
The Salza is a river of Saxony-Anhalt, Germany. It is a left tributary of the Saale in Salzmünde. The upper section of the Salza carries the name Querne. Its source is near the village , a district of the town Querfurt. It flows through Querfurt to Obhausen, where it receives its right tributary ''Weidenbach''. Downstream from this confluence, the river carries the name Weida. It continues through Schraplau and Röblingen am See and near Langenbogen it receives water that is pumped out of the lake (fed by the river Böse Sieben). From this point it carries the name Salza. The Salza proper is long; including Querne and Weida, it is long. The Saale (), also known as the Saxon Saale (german: Sächsische Saale) and Thuringian Saale (german: Thüringische Saale), is a river in Germany and a left-bank tributary of the Elbe. Schraplau
Schraplau is a town in the ''Verbandsgemeinde'' Weida-Land, part of the district of Saalekreis, in the State of Sachsen-Anhalt, Germany. It is situated approximately northeast of Querfurt. It is also considered part of the Halle-Leipzig metropolitan area. History The village of Scrabanloch was founded in the 8th century, the exact year remains unknown. Soon after, a castle was built near the settlement. In the 11th century the village received a charter to become a city. Over the time Schraplau has had several names. Böse Sieben
Böse Sieben (German for "evil seven") is a river of Saxony-Anhalt, Germany, flowing through the town Eisleben. The Böse Sieben originates from the eastern regions of the Harz, the sources of the river are the Vietzbach (or Goldbach) and the Dippelsbach, which confluence in Ahlsdorf. Beside from that it has 8 tributaries, the Kliebigbach, Goldgrundbach, Pfaffengrundbach, Saugrundbach, Wolferöder Graben, Hünsche Born, Wilder Graben and the Kalte Graben. Because the river has caused many floods after heavy rainfalls it was named "Willerbach" (mansfeldian dialect for "wild river") in the past. Later in the 19th century it was named "Böse Sieben".
