Saint-Denis–Dieppe Railway
The railway from Saint-Denis to Dieppe is a French 161-kilometre long railway line, that connected Paris to Dieppe on the English Channel coast. It was opened in several stages between 1846 and 1873. The part between Gisors and Serqueux was closed from 2009 to 2013, and the part between Serqueux and Arques-la-Bataille has been demolished. Route The Saint-Denis–Dieppe railway begins in the northern suburbs of Paris, near the Saint-Denis station, where it branches off the railway from Paris to Lille. It runs in generally northwestern direction, passing through Pontoise, Gisors, Gournay-en-Bray and Serqueux, where it crosses the Amiens–Rouen railway. The now demolished section beyond Serqueux passed through Neufchâtel-en-Bray, and followed the river Béthune downstream until it reached its terminus Dieppe station. Pontoise () is a commune in the northwestern suburbs of Paris, France. It is located from the centre of Paris, in the " new town" of Cergy-Pontoise. Rail transport (also known as train transport) is a means of transport that transfers passengers and goods on wheeled vehicles running on rails, which are incorporated in tracks. TER Normandie is the regional rail network serving the region of Normandy, northwestern France. It is operated by the French national railway company SNCF. It was formed in 2016 from the previous TER networks TER Basse-Normandie and TER Haute-Normandie, after the respective regions were merged. Transilien () is the brand name given to the commuter rail network serving Île-de-France, the region surrounding and including the city of Paris. The network consists of eight lines: Transilien Line H, H, Transilien Line J, J, Transilien Line K, K, Transilien Line L, L, Transilien Line N, N, Transilien Line U, U, Transilien Line P, P and Transilien Line R, R, each operated by SNCF, the state-owned railway of France. The Réseau Express Régional ( en, Regional Express Network), commonly abbreviated RER (), is a hybrid commuter rail and rapid transit system serving Paris and its ÃŽle-de-France, suburbs. It acts as a combined city-centre underground rail system and suburbs-to-city-centre commuter rail. In the city centre it acts much like the Paris Métro, though faster, having fewer stops. This has made it a model for proposals to improve transit within other cities. The network consists of five lines: RER A, A, RER B, B, RER C, C, RER D, D and RER E, E. The network has 257 stations and has interchanges with the Paris Métro, Métro and Transilien, commuter rail within the City of Paris and the suburbs. Serqueux Station
Serqueux station ( French: ''Gare de Serqueux'')is a railway station in the commune of Serqueux in the Seine-Maritime department, France. It is an interchange station between the Amiens–Rouen line and the Gisors–Serqueux–Dieppe line. History The station also had a connection to Charleval Serqueux, an important railway junction, was bombed in World War II. The church and part of the village were destroyed, but the station, with its architecture typical of the Nord company, remained untouched. In November 2006, the administrative tribunal ruled the closure of the Serqueux–Dieppe section of the Paris Saint-Lazare to Dieppe line to be illegal, but the SNCF had already dismantled the line installations. Pontoise Station
Pontoise is the train station serving the city of Pontoise and the surrounding suburbs. The station is a large building situated on Place Charles de Gaulle itself at the bottom end of Rue Thiers. Rue Thiers was built for the station and links Pontoise's Medieval centre to the railway. The station was opened to link Paris to Dieppe, it is parallel to the line with a long footbridge stretching over the lines to the Canrobert bus station. Trains no longer serve Dieppe (now rerouted via Rouen) but is well served by regional trains (Transilien) to Paris St-Lazare and Paris Nord. Pontoise Station is also served by RER C which uses a new bridge built of the River Oise to increase capacity. Épinay–Villetaneuse Station
Épinay - Villetaneuse is a railway station located in the commune of Épinay-sur-Seine, Seine-Saint-Denis department, France. It is also adjacent to the communes of Montmagny, Val-d'Oise, Montmagny and Deuil-la-Barre in Val d'Oise. Béthune (river)
The Béthune () is a river of Normandy, France, in length, flowing through the department of Seine-Maritime and it is a tributary of the Arques. However, Sandre, the regulators of France's national Water Information System, consider the Béthune to be the upper part of the Arques. Geography The river's source is at the village of Gaillefontaine near to Forges-les-Eaux. Its valley is wholly within the pays de Bray.
