Saehan Motors
The Saehan Motor Company was a South Korean car, automobile manufacturer founded in 1976, which was born on the collaboration of Shinjin Industrial Company and General Motors to introduce their products on the South Korean market. Saehan was born on the former "General Motors Korea", which encountered difficulties when the South Korean market collapsed, following the first round of oil rises in 1973. This joint-venture, 50-50 between GM and Shinjin, consisted on a car assembly plant in Bupyong, a truck assembly plant in Pusan and a foundry at Incheon. In November 1976, Shinjin Motors faced financial problems and sold its 50% stake in Saehan to the Korea Development Bank (KDB). In 1978, the Daewoo Group acquired the equity stake and management rights from KDB. The company was renamed Daewoo Motors, Daewoo Motor Co. in January 1983. The is a medium duty truck produced by Isuzu since 1959. Outside Japan it is known as N series and Q Series. The range was originally mainly available in Japan and other Asian countries. Australia was another important market for the Elf and N series – to the extent that it was manufactured there from the 1970s using many local components. Saehan BL064
Saehan (SMC) BL064 is a licensed built Isuzu Journey M series. Description Saehan Motors reintroduced this micro bus series after a brief absence since taking over from GM Korea. It continues to have the capacity of 25 passengers. However, this bus series received larger Isuzu based 4BA1 engine series from its predecessor. Production of this Micro Bus series ceased to be made after the government enacted “Automobile Industry Rationalization Policy.” Only 945 units were made during its production run. Saehan BU Series Bus
GM Korea introduced the BU series bus in 1976 using the MAN diesel powered U engine platform. Several platforms were built in this series. In 1977, Saehan Motors took over the GM Korea bus operation. The BU series continues to be made. BU100 GM Korea made the BU100 platform with 10 meter length version starting July 1976. It was equipped with rear mounted MAN D0846HM-U diesel engine. Holden, formerly known as General Motors-Holden, was an Australian subsidiary company of General Motors. It was an Australian automobile manufacturer, importer, and exporter which sold cars under its own marque in Australia. In its last three years, it switched entirely to importing cars. Opel Rekord E
The Opel Rekord Series E is an executive car that replaced the Rekord D on Opel's Rüsselsheim production lines in August 1977, following the end of the summer vacation plant shut-down. Daewoo Maepsy
The Daewoo Maepsy (대우 맵시) is a compact car manufactured by Daewoo (and its predecessor Saehan) in South Korea from December 1977 to 1989. The Maepsy was a badge engineered version of the Opel Kadett C, or to be more precise, of the PF50 Isuzu Gemini. Originally the car was sold as the Saehan Gemini (Saehan Bird in export markets), but in February 1982 the car evolved to become the Saehan Maepsy. By 1983 it was called the Daewoo Maepsy after Saehan Motor was bought out by the Daewoo Group, and finally the Daewoo Maepsy-Na (''New Maepsy'', 맵시나). The word "maepsy" means "beautiful" in Korean. The Isuzu Gemini is a subcompact car produced by the Japanese automaker Isuzu from 1974 until 2000. Holden Torana
The Holden Torana is a mid-sized car that was manufactured by Holden from 1967 to 1980. The name apparently comes from an word meaning "to fly" in an unconfirmed Aboriginal Australian language. The original HB series Torana was released in 1967 and was a four-cylinder compact vehicle closely based on the British Vauxhall Viva HB series of 1966 - 1970.
