Saeed Ahmed Hashmi is a Pakistani politician and Mining engineering, mining engineer who has been a Member of the Senate of Pakistan, since March 2021. Professional career Having obtained a Bachelor of Science, B.Sc in Mining Engineering, Hashmi worked as Assistant Mining Engineer for the Gillani Company Quetta from 1972 to 1976, as General Secretary Pakistan Mine Owners Association (Central Body) from 1975 to 1978 and as Chairman Institute of Mining Engineers Pakistan (Balochistan Region) from 1977 to 1988, among other professional positions. Political career Hashmi served as the General Secretary Pakistan Muslim League Balochistan from 1986 to 1998. Later, he became an advisor to Nawaz Sharif and in a 1994 publication Hashmi was described as an "hardliner" of the Pakistan Muslim League (N), PML-N.
