Saad Nasim ( Punjabi, ur, سعد نسيم; born 29 April 1990) is a Pakistani International cricketer. He is a right-handed middle-order batsman and also a legbreak spin bowler. He has played domestic cricket for WAPDA cricket team, Pakistan A and Lahore Lions. He represented Quetta Gladiators in Pakistan Super League. He made his Twenty20 International debut for Pakistan against Australia in the United Arab Emirates in October 2014. He made his One Day International debut for Pakistan against Bangladesh in April 2015. He was the leading run-scorer for Lahore Blues in the 2017–18 Quaid-e-Azam Trophy, with 561 runs in ten matches. In April 2018, he was named in Federal Areas' squad for the 2018 Pakistan Cup. He was the leading run-scorer for Lahore Blues in the 2018–19 Quaid-e-Azam One Day Cup, with 316 runs in seven matches. 2020–21 Pakistan Cup
The 2020–21 Pakistan Cup was a List A cricket competition that took place in Karachi, Pakistan from 8 January to 31 January 2021. Khyber Pakhtunkhwa were the defending champions after they beat Baluchistan. However, after the new domestic structure announced by Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), six newly formed regional teams were formed. In December 2020, it was announced that Aaron Summers would play in the tournament, becoming the first Australian cricketer to play in a domestic cricket competition in Pakistan, after signing with Southern Punjab cricket team. Following the conclusion of the group stage, Sindh, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Northern and Central Punjab had all qualified for the semi-finals of the tournament. The 2019–20 Quaid-e-Azam Trophy was a first-class domestic cricket competition that took place in Pakistan from 14 September to 31 December 2019. Habib Bank Limited were the defending champions. However, after the new domestic structure announced by Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), six newly formed regional teams played in the tournament. During the opening round of fixtures, a concussion substitute was used for the first time in a domestic cricket match in Pakistan. In the match between Southern Punjab and Central Punjab, Mohammad Saad replaced Usman Salahuddin in Central Punjab's team on the second day of the match. On 31 October 2019, Ahmed Shehzad was fined 50% of his match fee following a drawn match between his side, Central Punjab, and Sindh after his team was found guilty of ball-tampering. The 2018–19 Quaid-e-Azam Trophy was a first-class domestic cricket competition that took place in Pakistan from 1 September to 8 December 2018. Following the conclusion of each match, the teams played each other in a List A fixture in the 2018–19 Quaid-e-Azam One Day Cup tournament. Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited were the defending champions. In April 2018, Zarai Taraqiati Bank Limited (ZTBL) won the Patron's Trophy Grade-II tournament to qualify for this years' edition of the competition. ZTBL won their opening fixture of the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy, against Lahore Blues, by 151 runs. Prior to the start of the tournament, two players were dropped by their teams. The 2018–19 Quaid-e-Azam One Day Cup was the first edition of the Quaid-e-Azam One Day Cup, a List A cricket tournament that took place in Pakistan from 6 September to 4 November 2018. Each match was played after the conclusion of the corresponding first-class fixture in the 2018–19 Quaid-e-Azam Trophy. Following the conclusion of the group stage, National Bank of Pakistan, Khan Research Laboratories, Habib Bank Limited and Islamabad from Pool A along with Sui Southern Gas Corporation, Pakistan Television, Water and Power Development Authority and Multan from Pool B had all qualified for the quarter-finals. 2018 Pakistan Cup
The 2018 Pakistan Cup was the third edition of the Pakistan Cup, a List A cricket competition which was contested between five teams. It was held from 25 April to 6 May 2018, with all the matches played at the Iqbal Stadium, Faisalabad. Federal Areas were the defending champions. Federal Areas were the first team to advance to the final, after they beat Punjab by 7 wickets. They were joined in the final with Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, after the last group stage match, between Punjab and Sindh, finished as a tie. Federal Areas Cricket Team
Federal Areas was a first-class cricket team in Pakistan based in the capital, Islamabad. Since February 2008 they have played 16 first-class matches in four seasons of the Pentangular Cup. Their home ground was the Diamond Club Ground in Islamabad. Background When the Pakistan Cricket Board revamped the Pentangular Cup for the 2007-08 season, they created the Federal Areas team to make a fifth competitor alongside the teams from the four provinces. In order to make the competition even, "the Pakistan Cricket Board selected the top 75 Quaid-e-Azam players plus 20 juniors and divided them mong the five teams mostly on a regional basis but reallocating some to strengthen the weaker sides." 2017–18 Quaid-e-Azam Trophy
The 2017–18 Quaid-e-Azam Trophy was the 60th edition of the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy, Pakistan's domestic first-class cricket competition. It was contested by 16 teams representing eight regional associations and eight departments, and took place from 26 September to 25 December 2017, spanning almost two weeks less than originally planned. Pakistan's former Test captain Misbah-ul-Haq was critical of the compressed schedule and the quality of the pitches saying "it takes time to prepare a good pitch for a game and nobody can make it in two days".
