Sønderborg Airport
Sønderborg Airport ( da, Sønderborg Lufthavn) is an airport located in Sønderborg, Denmark. The airport officially opened in 1968; however, the first flights took place in 1950, and were flown by Sønderjyllands Flyveselskab. Airlines and destinations The following airlines operate regular scheduled and charter flights at the airport: Cimber Sterling operated the connection to Copenhagen until 3 May 2012, when the airline filed for bankruptcy. DAT took over the route to Copenhagen just hours after. In April 2013 Alsie Express was founded and started operating between Sønderborg and Copenhagen. Soon after Alsie Express started flying, DAT stopped operating the route. Statistics Ground transport The airport is located from Sønderborg city. Transfer is by taxi or own car. Alsie Express
Alsie Express is a Danish virtual airline based at Sønderborg. All flights are operated by its sister carrier, Air Alsie, as it is not an AOC holder. History Alsie Express was founded in 2013, and it started operation on the route between Sønderborg and Copenhagen on June 17, 2013. The previous operator, Danish Air Transport, cancelled all fights between Sønderborg – Copenhagen a week after Alsie Express started flying the route. In January 2021, Alsie Express announced the suspension of its scheduled services until late March 2021 in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic. Bornholm Airport ( da, Bornholms Lufthavn) is a Danish airport located 2.7 nautical miles (5 km) southeast of Rønne, on the island of Bornholm. Cimber Sterling A/S, also known as Cimber Air and styled as Cimber Sterling, was a Danish airline based in Sønderborg, Sønderborg Municipality, Denmark, operating scheduled domestic and international services in co-operation with Scandinavian Airlines (SAS) and Lufthansa. Its main bases were Copenhagen Airport and Billund Airport, with a smaller base at Aalborg Airport. The airline filed for bankruptcy on 3 May 2012. History Cimber Air was founded in 1950 by Ingolf Lorenz Nielson who took over Sønderjyllands Flyveselskab. Its first aircraft was a single engine SAI KZ III, call sign OY-DMO which had been used for flights primarily between Sønderborg and Copenhagen. DAT A/S, formerly named ''Danish Air Transport'', is a Danish airline headquartered in Vamdrup, Kolding Municipality, operating scheduled and chartered passenger and cargo flights mainly from airports in Denmark. History DAT was founded as ''Danish Air Transport'' and started operations in 1989, initially as a cargo airline. Soon special operations like the transport of live horses or supplies for the Paris Dakar Rally in Africa were offered, too. Tønder
Tønder (; german: Tondern ) is a town in the Region of Southern Denmark. With a population of 7,505 (as of 1 January 2022), it is the main town and the administrative seat of the Tønder Municipality.
