Sønder Bjert
Sønder Bjert is a Danish town in the Region of Southern Denmark with a population of 2,063 (1 January 2023). It lies approximately 7 kilometers southeast of Kolding and is a part of the Kolding Municipality. Overview Sønder Bjert Kirke (church) was built near the end of the 12th century out of stone cut from boulders and originally did not have a tower. The church's roofing consists of lead, which was last renovated in 2000. Sønder Bjert's first inn (Sønder Bjert Kro) was established back in 1759, but the building it occupies corruently was built in 1855. In 2002 the inn was renovated to include new meeting and conference facilities. A local dairy cooperative started production of milk on July 5, 1887, but later closed on November 20, 1958. The Region of Southern Denmark ( da, Region Syddanmark, ; german: Region Süddänemark, ; frr, Regiuun Syddanmark) is an administrative Regions of Denmark, region of Denmark established on Monday 1 January 2007 as part of the 2007 Danish Municipal Reform, which abolished the traditional counties of Denmark, counties ("amter") and set up five larger regions. At the same time, smaller List of municipalities of Denmark, municipalities were merged into larger units, cutting the number of municipalities from 271 before 1 January 2007 to 98. Statistics Denmark ( da, Danmarks Statistik) is a Danish governmental organization under the Ministry of the Interior and Housing and which reports to the Minister of Economic and Internal Affairs. The organization is responsible for creating statistics on the Danish society, for example employment statistics, trade balance, and demographics. Statistics Denmark makes large use of public registers in the statistical production. Population censuses have been produced entirely from registers since 1981. StatBank is a large statistical database maintained by the central authority of statistics in Denmark. Kolding () is a Danish seaport located at the head of Kolding Fjord in the Region of Southern Denmark. It is the seat of Kolding Municipality. Holger Lissner
Holger Lissner (born 15 July 1938 in Rynkeby), is a Danish priest and hymn writer. Biography Lissner was a teacher at Løgumkloster Højskole from 1971-1979 and a priest in Sønder Bjert from 1980–2003, before retiring in 2003. He worked a lot with hymns, both as a hymn writer, and as editor of collections of new hymns and choral works. He also wrote the liturgies for church services, including "Spillemandsmessen", a service with music for Danish folk musicians. In Denmark, Lissner is known for writing a Christian version of the Lucia song in 1982. In Norway, he is known for the advent hymn "Nå tenner vi vår adventskrans", which is in the 1985 edition of The '' Norsk Salmebok''. Villy Søvndal
Villy Søvndal (born 4 April 1952) is a Danish politician who served as Denmark's Minister for Foreign Affairs from 2011 to 2013. He represented the Socialist People's Party (''Socialistisk Folkeparti'') in Parliament (''Folketinget'') from 1994 to 2013. He was selected as party leader in a 2005 vote, succeeding Holger K. Nielsen. After he assumed this post, support for SF rose steadily in the polls, and in the 2007 parliamentary election the party received more than 13% of the votes, giving it 23 seats. After the election, support for SF continued to increase – up to 17–18% – but in the 2011 parliamentary election the party received only 9% of the vote and dropped down to 16 seats. The Green Left ( da, Socialistisk Folkeparti, SF) is a democratic socialist political party in Denmark. It was formerly known in English as the Socialist People's Party, the literal translation of its Danish name. History 1959–1969 The SF was founded on 15 February 1959 by Aksel Larsen, a former leader of the Communist Party of Denmark (DKP). Larsen was removed from the ranks of the DKP for his criticism over the Soviet intervention in the Hungarian Revolution of 1956. Larsen and the new SF sought to form a third way between Denmark's United States-oriented social democracy and Soviet Union–oriented communism, which sought to combine democracy with socialism.
