Söğütözü is a neighbourhood in Çankaya, the main central business district of Ankara, Turkey. It is located between the EskiÅŸehir Road ( D-200 EskiÅŸehir Yolu) and Atatürk Forest Farm and Zoo. Many of the city's newest skyscrapers and shopping malls such as the Armada Tower & Mall are in Söğütözü, which is served by a subway station on the M2 line of the Ankara Metro, and a light rail station on the A1 line of Ankaray. Ankaray
Ankaray, designated as the A1, is a long rapid transit line of the Ankara Metro system in Ankara, Turkey. Opened in 1996, it is the oldest rapid transit line in Ankara and the second oldest in Turkey after the M1 line of the Istanbul Metro. Ankaray begins at the Ankara Intercity Bus Terminal in southeastern Yenimahalle and runs east to Dikimevi in northeastern Çankaya and consists of 11 stations. In 2017, the line saw over 33.5 million boardings, making it the second busiest line of Ankara Metro, after the M1. The Ankara Metro ( tr, Ankara Metrosu) is the rapid transit system serving Ankara, the capital of Turkey. At present, Ankara's rapid transit system consists of two metro lines – the ''Batıkent Metrosu (M1)''and the new ''Keçiören Metrosu (M4)'' line opened in 2017, along with the light rail ''Ankaray'' line. The Ankaray, the M1 and M4 lines, together transported 104.1 million passengers in 2014. That corresponds to a ridership of approximately 289,155 per day. In February 2019 all the lines that used to run M1, M2 and M3 were merged to create one line, M1. Çankaya is a district of Ankara, Turkey. It is home to many government buildings, including the Grand National Assembly of Turkey, as well as nearly all foreign embassies to Turkey. Çankaya is a cosmopolitan district and considered the cultural and financial center of Ankara. Demographics The population of the central province is close to 1 million in 2016. Ankara, the capital of Turkey, has a total of 7 skyscrapers, defined as buildings taller than 150 meters (492 feet), as of April 2020. Outside of Istanbul, Turkey's largest city, Ankara contains some of the country's tallest buildings. The Elya Tower will be the tallest building in Ankara when it is completed in 2020, measuring 210 meters in height. It will replace the Kuzu Effect building, which has a height of 186 meters and was completed in 2018. Prior to the 2010s, Ankara had no buildings taller than 150 meters. Yenimahalle is a metropolitan district of Ankara Province in the Central Anatolia region of Turkey, a fast-growing urban residential district of the city of Ankara, Turkey's capital. According to 2010 census, population of the urban center is 648,160. The district covers an area of , and the average elevation is . Yenimahalle today The name ''Yenimahalle'' means ''the new quarter'' and in the late 1940s the area of open land to the west of the city was allocated for civil servants and workers housing. This grew with the construction of the E5 highway through the area and even more when the metro was built. Atatürk Forest Farm and Zoo ( tr, Atatürk Orman ÇiftliÄŸi ve Hayvanat Bahçesi, in short ''AOÇ'') is an expansive recreational farming area, which houses a zoo, several small agricultural farms, greenhouses, restaurants, a dairy farm and a brewery in Ankara, Turkey. The farm and the zoo are under the administration of the Ministry of Agriculture and Village Affairs. Forest farm The Forest Farm was established in 1925 by Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, the first President of the Turkish Republic as a private farm.
