Sérgio Farias
Sérgio Ricardo de Paiva Farias (born 9 June 1967) is a Brazilian football manager is best known for his continental accomplishments during his four-year reign as Pohang Steelers. Farias won the AFC Champions League with Pohang Steelers in 2009. Farias won Asia’s Club Manager of the Year in 2010. As well as winning Asia’s best manager, Farias was selected as the best manager in the K-league and gained the award for the Best Manager in East Asia as well. Coaching career After many achievements in Brazil, with big clubs as well as their youth sides - Farias decided to move abroad in seek of a new adventure. That is when Farias and Pohang Steelers in South Korea found each other. Since July 2021, he has been the head coach of Qatar Stars League club Umm Salal SC. The Korean FA Cup is a national football cup knockout competition of South Korea, held annually by the Korea Football Association (KFA). Before the FA Cup was established in 1996, two predecessor competitions named All Joseon Football Tournament (1921–1940) and Korean National Football Championship (1946–2000) were played, but the FA Cup did not succeed their records. The 2007 K League was the 25th season of the K League. The format of the league was changed from two stages to single league since this season. Each team played 26 matches against every other teams under the home and away system. After the regular league was finished, the top six clubs qualified for the championship playoffs to determine champions. It took a break after the Round 13 on 23 June due to the 2007 AFC Asian Cup, and resumed with the Round 14 on 8 August. The K League 1 (Hangul: K리그1) is the men's top professional football division of the South Korean football league system. The league is contested by twelve clubs. History The South Korean professional football league was founded in 1983 as the "Korean Super League", with five member clubs. The initial five clubs were Hallelujah FC, Yukong Elephants, Pohang Steelworks, Daewoo Royals, Kookmin Bank. Campeonato Brasileiro Série C
The Campeonato Brasileiro Série C is the third tier of the Brazilian football league system. Unlike the first and second divisions, the Série C is not played in a double round robin system, arguably because many participating teams lack the financial conditions to travel long distances. Thus, the tournament is organized in regional groups and the table prevents teams from distant states from playing each other in the initial rounds. Until 2008, any professional team could apply, but only 64 teams would take part in the tournament. The teams that had been relegated from the Série B in the previous year were joined by teams qualified for each federation state. The South American U-17 Championship (; ) is a football competition held every two years for South American under-17 teams. The tournament was born in 1985 out of a need for a classification tournament for the newly created FIFA U-16 World Cup (now the FIFA U-17 World Cup). The Qatar Stars League ( ar, دوري نجوم قطر), or the QSL, also called QNB Stars League for sponsorship reasons, is the top level football league in Qatar football league system. Contested by 12 teams, it operates on a system of promotion and relegation with the Qatari Second Division (QSD). Seasons of the QSL usually run from September to April.
