São Paulo Dance School
The São Paulo School of Dance ( Portuguese: ''Escola de Dança de São Paulo'' - EDASP), also known as the São Paulo Municipal Theater Dance School (''Escola de Dança do Theatro Municipal de São Paulo'' - EDTMSP) or the Municipal Ballet School (''Escola Municipal de Bailado''), is located in the Brazilian city of São Paulo. It is linked to the training center of the São Paulo Municipal Theater Foundation. Currently run by Cristiana de Souza, the school is based in Praça das Artes and caters to around 800 students. It is one of the most traditional dance schools in Brazil and has trained generations of artists. Francisco Prestes Maia () (1896–1965) was a Brazilian architect, civil engineer, urban planner, and professor, who served three terms as mayor of the city of São Paulo. Biography Francisco Prestes Maia was born to Manuel Azevedo Maia and Carolina Prestes on March 19, 1896 in Amparo, São Paulo, a small town 120 km north of the capital city. In 1917, Prestes Maia completed his engineering and architecture degree at the ''POLI'', Polytechnic School of São Paulo (Portuguese: ''Escola Politécnica da Universidade de São Paulo''). Viaduto Do Chá
Viaduto do Chá ("Tea Viaduct") is a viaduct of São Paulo, Brazil. It was the first viaduct built in the city, and was instigated by Jules Martin, a French immigrant to the city. The span crosses the Vale do Anhangabaú. Originally conceived in 1877, construction started in 1888 before being stopped one month later by a court case brought by local residents. Construction resumed in 1889, and the iron bridge was completed in 1892. The original viaduct was replaced in 1938 with a new concrete span. Klauss Vianna
Klauss Ribeiro Vianna (12 August 1928 – 12 April 1992) was a Brazilian dancer, choreographer and theater director. Biography Klauss Vianna was born in Belo Horizonte, in 1928, the son of physician João Ribeiro Vianna and the nurse Erna Maria Hapke Vianna, a native of Germany. In 1944, he started taking classic ballet lessons with Carlos Leite and later, in 1949, with Maria Olenewa in São Paulo. In Salvador, he studied dance and anatomy applied to movement.
