Sávoly
Sávoly () is a village in Somogy county, Hungary. About Sávoly Population: 576 Area: 1.19 km2 Fields: 25.65 km2 The road running across the bridge of the Marótvölgyi Channel goes to Sávoly. Water flows very slowly in the channel, since it has a new task recently: it cannot reach the River Zala but serves as the cradle of reservoir II of Small Balaton, a lake. The low-lying, marshy, boggy land, which is now the lowest point of the Somogy county lying west of the Marcali ridge, was once the home of Lake Jankó. Today, however, it is covered in sedge, with clusters of trees here and there. One can take the busy main road 7, running parallel to the village, at two places. The village has its own railway station on the Budapest-Nagykanizsa line, although a short walk is needed to get to the residential area after getting off the train. M7 Motorway (Hungary)
The M7 motorway ( hu, M7-es autópálya) is a Hungarian motorway which runs from Budapest towards the Croatian border at Letenye, reaching Székesfehérvár, then Siófok, a town on Lake Balaton, and the city of Nagykanizsa in the southwest of the country. The motorway connects with the Croatian motorway A4 at Goričan and forms part of the Pan-European corridor Vb, connecting Budapest with Zagreb, the capital of Croatia, and Rijeka, the largest Croatian seaport. Since the completion of the M7 it is possible to travel on motorway from Budapest to the Adriatic Sea, a popular tourist destination for Hungarians. The last portion of the motorway to the Croatian border, including the Zrinski Bridge on the river Mura, was completed on 22 October 2008. The road's first sections were built in the 1960s and 1970s. Marcali ( hu, Marcali járás) is a district in north-western part of Somogy County. ''Marcali'' is also the name of the town where the district seat is found. The district is located in the Southern Transdanubia Statistical Region. Zala (river)
The Zala is a river in south-western Hungary. Its source is in the hills northwest of Szalafő near the borders with Austria and Slovenia. Its length is and drains water from . Several smaller rivers feed into it, including the Felső-Válicka, Szentmihályfalvai patak (brook), Szévíz csatorna (channel), Foglár csatorna on the right bank, and Szentjakabi patak, Sárvíz (Zala) patak, Széplaki patak, Csörgető patak and Nádas patak on the left bank. Lake Balaton
Lake Balaton () is a freshwater lake in the Transdanubian region of Hungary. It is the largest lake in Central Europe, and one of the region's foremost tourist destinations. The Zala River provides the largest inflow of water to the lake, and the canalised Sió is the only outflow. The mountainous region of the northern shore is known both for its historic character and as a major wine region, while the flat southern shore is known for its resort towns. Somogysimonyi
Somogysimonyi is a village in Somogy County, Hungary. It incorporates the earlier separated villages of ''Gardos-puszta'', ''Irma-puszta'' and ''Angyalvár-telep''. Geography It lies southwest of Marcali at the border between Somogy and Zala County. It is separated from Nemesvid by the ''Forest of Gödörberk'' which consists mostly of oak trees. There are fields of May bells and cyclamen in the forest. Fallow deer, deer, roe deer and wild boars as well as foxes, polecats and weasels live there. History Somogysimonyi was earlier known as ''Simonyi'' and is since the 14th century inhabited. The village was first mentioned in the papal tithe register between 1332 and 1337.
