Szuper Gallery
Szuper Gallery is a contemporary art collective consisting of artists Susanne Clausen and Pavlo Kerestey based in London, England and Munich, Germany. Their work mainly involves video and sound installations, performances and more - known for works such as Liftarchiv; a piece intended as a dynamic art space in the form of a lift, located in the city's local administration office or ''Kreisverwaltungsreferat','' as well as Liquid Trust, a video and performance shown originally at the Western Front Art Centre Vancouver in 2014. Works Liftarchiv Liftarchiv, ''Liftarchiv or Lift Archive'' is a project by Szuper Gallery in 2007 that focuses around a glass elevator made for the Munich local administration office, or ''Kreisverwaltungsreferat''. Susanne Clausen
Susanne Clausen is a German and British artist, curator and Professor of Fine Art at the University of Reading. She works often in collaboration with Pavlo Kerestey under the name Szuper Gallery, under which she publishes most of her works; consisting mainly of performances, videos and multi-media installations, paintings and drawings. For the University of Reading, as well as being a professor, she holds the title of Director and Founder of Reading International, also serving as the head of the Art between 2011-2017. She has lived and worked in Munich Germany, London and Reading England, having exhibited across the world in galleries and art spaces spanning from the Institute of Contemporary Arts London, to the Western Front Arts Centre Vancouver and the Perm Museum of Contemporary Art Russia. Pavlo Kerestey
Pavlo Kerestey is a Ukrainian born German artist and painter. He often works with the artist Susanne Clausen under the name Szuper Gallery, creating multimedia pieces and performances. Participant of the Ukrainian New Wave. Life and work Kerestey was born in Uzhhorod, Ukraine, and graduated from The Lviv National Academy of Arts in 1984. After working in Moscow during the 80s and in the Parisian Commune; an infamous underground post-Soviet artist community in Kyiv in the early 90s, he represented the Ukrainian New Wave as a prolific artist. The commune was known as "a testing ground for a model of an unofficial artist run production - thinking and living space after the collapse of the Soviet-Union". Western Front Society
Western Front (Western Front Society) is an artist-run centre located in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. It was founded in 1973 by eight artists (Martin Bartlett, Mo van Nostrand, Kate Craig, Henry Greenhow, Glenn Lewis, Eric Metcalfe, Michael Morris, Vincent Trasov ) who wanted to create a space for the exploration and creation of new art forms. After they purchased the former Knights of Pythias lodge hall located in Mount Pleasant, Vancouver, it quickly became a centre for poets, dancers, musicians and visual artists interested in exploration and interdisciplinary practices. Institute Of Contemporary Arts
The Institute of Contemporary Arts (ICA) is an artistic and cultural centre on The Mall in London, just off Trafalgar Square. Located within Nash House, part of Carlton House Terrace, near the Duke of York Steps and Admiralty Arch, the ICA contains galleries, a theatre, two cinemas, a bookshop and a bar. Bengi Unsal became the director in 2022. History The ICA was founded by Roland Penrose, Peter Watson, Herbert Read, Peter Gregory, Geoffrey Grigson and E. L. T. Mesens in 1946. The ICA's founders intended to establish a space where artists, writers and scientists could debate ideas outside the traditional confines of the Royal Academy.
