Újcsanálos
The village of Újcsanálos is located in the county of Borsod-Abaúj-Zemplén, in the Miskolc district, in the valley of the Hernád river, the same distance from Miskolc and Szerencs, which is part of the historic Zemplén county, including the Harangod region. History Its first written mention is from 1352 by the name "Chanalus", which was in the possession of the Czudar family then. Over the next few centuries, only a few cases have taken place in the possession of the territory until the village's destruction in the Turkish invasion's era. During the XVI-XVII. century, the village become deserted, people only came back after the Turkish were chased out. In 1865, due to the several floods of the River Hernád, some of the inhabitants of the settlement called Hernádcsanálos moved to a more protected place in the area of today's Újcsanálos. Tállya is a village in Borsod-Abaúj-Zemplén county, Northern Hungary, 45 kilometres from county seat Miskolc, in the famous Tokaj-Hegyalja wine district. Geography Tállya is located at . Szerencs
Szerencs is a town in Borsod-Abaúj-Zemplén county, Northern Hungary. It lies away from Miskolc, and away from Budapest. It has about 9,100 inhabitants. History Szerencs grew into a town where the Great Plain and the Zemplén mountains meet. It is the cultural and economic centre of Southern Hegyalja. This small town, with rich historical past, is called the Gate of Hegyalja and due to it was inhabited in ancient times. The first authentic written record about the one-thousand-year-old Szerencs dates back to a document from the 13th century. In 1241 the monastery of crusaders from St. John-order (the Joannists) stood here, which was named “Szerencs-Abbey of the Apostles called St. Peter and St. Paul”. The documents from the end of the 15th century refer to the settlement as a town. Monok
Monok is a village in Borsod-Abaúj-Zemplén, Hungary and is part of the Tokaj wine region. Geography The nearest town is Szerencs away. Neighbouring villages are Golop away, Legyesbénye away and Tállya away. The Zemplén Mountains have two sides: on the north Vilvitány Hill, on the south Szerencs Hill. The village lies in the valley between the two. Although the north is mountainous the south is lower lying at around . On the north and south slopes there are fields and vineyards whose wines compete with those from Tokaj, and the fields bordering the vineyards offer views of the Tatra Mountains.
