Syvdsfjorden
Syvdefjorden is a fjord in Vanylven Municipality in Møre og Romsdal county, Norway. The long fjord flows from the village of Myklebost to the north until it empties into the Rovdefjorden. The old Syvde municipality was centered on this fjord until it was merged into Vanylven municipality in 1964. The sides of the fjord are mountainous, particularly the eastern side, with mountainsides stretching up to high coming right out of the water. Syvde
Syvde is a former municipality in Møre og Romsdal county, Norway. The municipality existed from 1918 until its dissolution in 1964. The municipality included the areas surrounding the Syvdsfjorden in the eastern part of the present-day Vanylven Municipality. The administrative centre of the municipality was the village of Myklebost, at the end of the fjord. Syvde Church was the municipal church. History The municipality of Syvde was established on 1 February 1918 when the old Vanylven Municipality was split into two municipalities: Vanyvlen and Syvde. Initially, Syvde had a population of 1,260. During the 1960s, there were many municipal mergers across Norway due to the work of the Schei Committee. On 1 January 1964, all of Syvde Municipality (population: 1,458), all of Rovde Municipality located south of the Rovdefjorden (population: 436), and all of Vanylven Municipality (population: 2,003) where merged into a new, larger Vanylven Municipality. Vanylven is a municipality in Møre og Romsdal county, Norway. It is part of the Sunnmøre region. The administrative centre is the village of Fiskåbygd. Other villages in the municipality include Åheim, Åram, Rovdane, Eidså, Slagnes, and Myklebost. The municipality is the 241st largest by area out of the 356 municipalities in Norway. Vanylven is the 225th most populous municipality in Norway with a population of 3,045. Myklebost or Syvde is a village in Vanylven Municipality in Møre og Romsdal county, Norway. The village is located at the end of the Syvdsfjorden about east of the municipal center of Fiskåbygd and south of the village of Rovdane. The village has a population (2012) of 393, giving the village a population density of . Rovdefjorden
Rovdefjorden is a fjord (more precisely, a strait) in Møre og Romsdal county, Norway. The fjord runs through the municipalities of Sande, Herøy, Vanylven, Volda, Ørsta, and a tiny part of Ulstein. The eastern end of the fjord connects with the Vartdalsfjorden and Voldsfjorden and the western end of the fjord connects with the Hallefjorden. The Syvdsfjorden branches off the Rovdefjorden to the south. The fjord is bounded by the mainland to the south and the island of Gurskøya to the north. The long fjord is about wide, and it reaches a maximum depth of below sea level, near the mouth of the Voldsfjorden. The area around the Rovdefjorden was once part of the municipality of Rovde from 1905 until 1964. The area south of the Rovdefjorden is called Rovdestranda.
