The village is located at the end of the Syvdsfjorden about east of the municipal center of Fiskåbygd and south of the village of Rovdane. Syvde Church
Syvde Church ( no, Syvde kyrkje) is a parish church of the Church of Norway in the List of municipalities of Norway, municipality of Vanylven in Møre og Romsdal county, Norway. It is located in the village of Myklebost, Vanylven, Myklebost in the Syvde area of the municipality. It is the church for the Syvde parish which is part of the Søre Sunnmøre prosti (deanery) in the Diocese of Møre. The white, wooden church was built in a long church design in 1837 using plans drawn up by an unknown architect. The church seats about 392 people. History The earliest existing historical records of the church date back to 1432 in Aslak Bolt's cadastre, but the church was already existing at that time. Syvde is a former municipality in Møre og Romsdal county, Norway. The municipality existed from 1918 until its dissolution in 1964. The municipality included the areas surrounding the Syvdsfjorden in the eastern part of the present-day Vanylven Municipality. Rovdane or Rovde is a village in Vanylven Municipality in Møre og Romsdal county, Norway. It is located along the Rovdefjorden, about north of the village of Myklebost, northeast of the municipal center of Fiskåbygd, and west of the village of Volda. The district around Rovdane is referred to as Rovdestranda. Rovde Church is located in Rovdane. History Beginning in 1838, Rovdane was administratively a part of the municipality of Herøy (see formannskapsdistrikt law). However, this changed on 1 January 1867 when Herøy was divided into two and the western part became Sande Municipality, which included the areas on both sides of the Rovdefjorden. Syvdsfjorden
Syvdefjorden is a fjord in Vanylven Municipality in Møre og Romsdal county, Norway. The long fjord flows from the village of Myklebost to the north until it empties into the Rovdefjorden. The old Syvde municipality was centered on this fjord until it was merged into Vanylven municipality in 1964. The sides of the fjord are mountainous, particularly the eastern side, with mountainsides stretching up to high coming right out of the water.
