Syuejia District
Syuejia District, National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency, United States National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (), alternatively spelled Xuejia, is a District (Taiwan), district of about 24,857 residents in Tainan City, Taiwan. Name History After the Retrocession Day, handover of Taiwan from Japan to the Republic of China (1912–1949), Republic of China in 1945, Syuejia was organized as a Township (Taiwan), rural township of Tainan County. On 2 February 1968, Syuejia was upgraded from rural township to urban township due to its population. On 25 December 2010, Tainan County was merged with Tainan City and Syuejia was upgraded to a District (Taiwan), district of the Special municipality (Taiwan), city. District (Taiwan)
Districts are administrative subdivisions of the Taiwan, Republic of China (Taiwan)'s special municipality (Taiwan), special municipalities of the second level and provincial city (Taiwan), provincial cities of the third level formerly under its Provinces of China, provinces. There are two types of district in the administrative scheme. Ordinary districts are governed directly by the municipality/city government with district administrators appointed by the mayors to four-year terms. Township (Taiwan)
Townships are the third-level administrative subdivisions of counties of the Republic of China (Taiwan), along with county-administered cities. After World War II, the townships were established from the following conversions on the Japanese administrative divisions: Although local laws do not enforce strict standards for classifying them, generally urban townships have a larger population and more business and industry than rural townships, but not to the extent of county-administered cities. Under townships, there is still the village as the fourth or basic level of administration. Kao Ching-yuen
Kao Ching-yuen (; 24 May 1929 – March 2016, aged 86) was a Taiwanese businessman. Kao was born to a poor family in Gakkō Village, Hokumon District, Tainan Prefecture, Japanese-era Taiwan (modern-day Syuejia, Tainan). Kao began working upon graduating from elementary school. He got into Taiwan Spinning (台南紡織), a textile processing company in 1954, and became a manager later. Kao left Taiwan Spinning in 1966. He established the Uni-President Corporation in 1967 and served as company chairman until 2013. Wanpi World Safari Zoo
The Wanpi World Safari Zoo () is a zoo in Sanqing Village, Syuejia District, Tainan, Taiwan. History The zoo was established in 1994 for tourism, research, conservation, entertainment and education. Attractions There are over 300 animals kept at the zoo, in which it has the largest amphibious reptile collections in the world with more than 200 species. It also features some endangered animals. Leopard King Safari Zoo
The leopard (''Panthera pardus'') is one of the five extant species in the genus ''Panthera'', a member of the cat family, Felidae. It occurs in a wide range in sub-Saharan Africa, in some parts of Western and Central Asia, Southern Russia, and on the Indian subcontinent to Southeast and East Asia. Special municipality, historically known as Yuan-controlled municipality is a first-level administrative division unit in the Republic of China (Taiwan). Under the administrative structure of Taiwan, it is the highest level of division in Taiwan and is equivalent to a province. Tainan County was a county in southern Taiwan between 1945 and 2010. The county seat was in Sinying City. History Tainan County was established on 7 January 1946 on the territory of Tainan Prefecture () shortly after the end of World War II. In the early years, Tainan County consists of most territory of Tainan Prefecture except the territory near cities of Tainan and Kagi (Chiayi).
