Sydbank Arena (previously known as Odense Idrætshal) is a complex of indoor sports arenas in Odense, Denmark used for several sports, but primarily handball and badminton. The arena is home to Danish Women's Handball League team Odense Håndbold. It has also been used for badminton tournaments, national and international events. Odense Håndbold
Odense Håndbold (in its first season: Odense GOG and after that Handball Club Odense) is a Danish women's handball team, that plays in Damehåndboldligaen, Denmark's premier women's handball league. It was created in August 2009 and took over GOG Svendborg TGI's license for the league, which was published in a press meeting August 27, 2009 in Odense Idrætshal. They changed their name to Odense Håndbold (Odense Handball) before the beginning of the 2016/2017 season. The team's home court is Sydbank Arena in the city of Odense and they play in orange shirts and black shorts. They are currently competing in the 2022–23 Women's EHF Champions League. Odense ( , , ) is the third largest city in Denmark (behind Copenhagen and Aarhus) and the largest city on the island of Funen. Badminton
Badminton is a racquet sport played using racquets to hit a shuttlecock across a net. Although it may be played with larger teams, the most common forms of the game are "singles" (with one player per side) and "doubles" (with two players per side). Badminton is often played as a casual outdoor activity in a yard or on a beach; formal games are played on a rectangular indoor court. The Danish Women's Handball League ( da, Damehåndboldligaen) is the top professional league for Denmark, Danish women's Team handball, handball clubs. It is administered by the Danish Handball Federation, and the winners are recognized as Danish champions. The league is officially called Bambusa Kvindeligaen for sponsorship reasons.
