Sycamore Stakes
The Sycamore Stakes is a Grade III American Thoroughbred horse race for three-year-olds or older, over a distance of miles on the turf held annually in October at Keeneland Race Course, Lexington, Kentucky during the autumn meeting. The event currently carries a purse of $300,000. History The inaugural running of the event was on 12 October 1995 over a distance of miles and was won by Frank Mansell's five-year-old Lindon Lime who was ridden by US Hall of Fame jockey Craig Perret. Lindon Lime started as the even money favorite and won finishingf strongly by lengths in a time of 2:42.11 setting a new track record for the distance. In 2001 the distance was reduced one furlong to miles. The event was won by Rochester who in his career win the event two more times (2002, 2005) and placing third as well in 2004. Keeneland Association, Inc. is an equine business based in Lexington, Kentucky. Drayden Van Dyke (born September 10, 1994, in Louisville, Kentucky) is a jockey in thoroughbred racing. At graded stakes races, Van Dyke has won 67 events ranging from Grade I to Grade III. Of these wins, Van Dyke has won both the Starlet Stakes and Yellow Ribbon Handicap four times. As a Breeders' Cup jockey, Van Dyke won the Turf Sprint event at the 2018 Breeders' Cup. Channing Hill (born August 22, 1987 in Grand Island, Nebraska) is an American jockey in American Thoroughbred horse racing. Hill began riding horses when he was 16 years old. He rode full-time at Prairie Meadows Racetrack between his junior and senior years in high school. After graduating from Columbus High School in 2005 he traveled to New York to continue his riding career. Zulu Alpha (foaled February 8, 2013 in Kentucky) is an American Thoroughbred racehorse and the winner of the 2020 Pegasus World Cup Turf. Career Zulu Alpha's first race was on October 20, 2015, at Gowran Park Racecourse in County Kilkenny, Ireland where he came in second. Returning to the United States, he picked up his first win on July 18, 2017, at Indiana Grand Race Course in Shelbyville, Indiana. He won again that month at the same track. His 2017 season ended with a third-place finish in the Prairie Bayou Stakes. His 2018 season saw him come in third place at the Mervin H. Muniz Jr. Memorial Handicap on March 24. John R. (born John Richbourg, August 20, 1910 - February 15, 1986) was an American radio disc jockey who attained fame in the 1950s and 1960s for playing rhythm and blues music on Nashville radio station WLAC. He was also a notable record producer and artist manager. Richbourg was arguably the most popular and charismatic of the four announcers at WLAC who showcased popular African-American music in nightly programs from the late 1940s to the early 1970s. (The other three were Gene Nobles, Herman Grizzard, and Bill "Hoss" Allen.)
