Bella French Swisher (, French; December 1837 – September 28, 1893) was a 19th-century American author, editor, and litterateur. She was also the founder, publisher, and owner of a newspaper (''The Western Progress'') and a magazine (''American Sketch Book''). Swisher was connected with the ''Daily La Crosse Democrat'', ''The Western Progress'', ''Pioneer Press'', and the ''St. Paul Chronotype''. Besides her journalistic writings, she published several books of non-fiction, novels, and poetry. Some of them included, ''History of Brown County, Wisconsin'', in several volumes, ''Struggling up to the Lights'', ''Homeless Thought at Home'', ''Cassie'', ''The Story of a Woman's Love'', and ''Rocks and Shoals''. Robert Emerson Swisher (July 14, 1914 – September 27, 1979) was a professional American football player who played running back for five seasons for the Chicago Bears. He was born in 1914 in Victoria, Illinois. Clark Leo Swisher (March 27, 1916 – November 28, 2005) was an American football and basketball coach. He served as the head football coach at Northern State University in Aberdeen, South Dakota from 1946 and 1955 and from 1957 to 1968, compiling a record of 146–42–4. Clayton E. Swisher is an American former journalist and author, who now works as a geopolitical risk analyst. Formerly the Director of Investigative Journalism for the Al Jazeera Media Network in Doha, Qatar, he now heads Swisher Empirical Studies LLC, headquartered in Doha. He is the author of two non-fiction books on the Arab–Israeli conflict.
