Luis Swisher
Luis Arturo Swisher Salguero (born 21 June 1978) is a former Guatemalan football defender. Club career Swisher started his professional career with Aurora F.C. making his debut with the club in 1997. He then played for some other local teams before he joined Polish side Polonia Warszawa from CD Suchitepéquez in June 2005, after several exceptional years in Guatemala. He lasted only one season in Europe and returned to Suchitepéquez only to play for four different teams in the next four seasons. After joining Petapa in 2009 he moved to USAC before the 2009–2010 season. In March 2010, his former club Jalapa were deducted 6 points for breach of contract after not paying the salaries of Swisher and Maynor Dávila. In June 2013, Swisher announces his retirement from professional football, making USAC his last team. The 2007 CONCACAF Gold Cup was the ninth edition of the Gold Cup, the soccer championship of North America, Central America and the Caribbean (CONCACAF), and was won by the United States over Mexico. It was contested in the United States from June 6 to 24, 2007. This competition was the third overall edition of the tournament without guests (for the first time since 1993) from other confederations. As the winner, the United States represented CONCACAF at the 2009 FIFA Confederations Cup. Guadeloupe, an overseas department of France, is not a member of FIFA. Ramón Maradiaga
Ramón Enrique Maradiaga Chávez (born 30 October 1954) is a retired Honduran football player and manager. Club career Nicknamed ''Primitivo'', Maradiaga has played as a midfielder amongst others for F.C. Motagua as well as Salvadoran giants Águila and Alianza. He also had half a season in Europe, playing 15 games in the Spanish Segunda División for Tenerife in 1984. He scored 23 goals in total for Motagua, making him one of the most prolific midfielders in the club's history. 2002 CONCACAF Gold Cup
The 2002 CONCACAF Gold Cup was the sixth edition of the Gold Cup, the soccer championship of North America, Central America and the Caribbean (CONCACAF). The tournament was once again held in the United States, in Miami and Pasadena. The format of the tournament stayed the same as in 2000: twelve teams were split into four groups of three. The top two teams in each group would advance to the quarterfinals. Ecuador and South Korea were invited from outside CONCACAF. Canada, who rode the coin toss all the way to winning the 2000 Cup, needed luck once again, as all games in Group D ended with a 2-0 result. Lots were drawn, with Canada and Haiti moving on to the next round; Ecuador did not. But the Canadian team's luck ran dry in the semifinals, as the U.S. beat them on penalties after tying 0-0.
