Hamad Aquatic Centre is a large swimming pool complex in Doha, Qatar. The centre is housed in the Doha Sports City complex along with other buildings dedicated to sports in Qatar including the Qatar Olympic and Sports Museum, the Aspire Tower, Khalifa International Stadium, and a training school called Aspire Academy. It is three stories tall and is equipped to host events in swimming, synchronized swimming, and diving. Gary Tan Lee Yu (born 21 April 1982) is a Singaporean former professional swimmer. He is currently the Singapore national team's swimming coach. He had previously held several national swimming records in Singapore. Swimming career On 18 June 2001 at the SEA Games Time Trials in the 200 Meters Backstroke he came in at 2:05.07 which is a record in Singapore. On 7 December 2003 at the 22nd SEA Games in Hanoi, Vietnam, Gary won the Men 200 Meters Medley with the time of 2:05.94 which is a record in Singapore. On 24 June 2005 at the 1st Singapore National Swimming Championship, he won the Men 200 Meters Butterfly with the time of 2:04.00 which is a record in Singapore. Bryan Tay
Bryan Tay (born Tay Zhi Rong, born 13 April 1988) is a Singaporean swimmer, who specialized in individual and relay freestyle events. He is also a multiple-time medalist for the individual events, and a two-time defending champion for the relay freestyle events at the Southeast Asian Games. Tay was the sole male swimmer for the Singapore national team at the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing, and competed for the men's 200 m freestyle. He won the second heat of the competition, and set a national record, with a time of 1:50.41, 0.86 seconds ahead of Estonia's Vladimir Sidorkin. Tay, however, failed to advance into the semi-final rounds, as he placed forty-first in the overall rankings. Sng Ju Wei (born 3 June 1980) is a Singaporean former swimmer, who specialized in sprint and middle-distance freestyle events. He is a two-time Olympian (1996 and 2000), and a triple medalist at the 2001 Southeast Asian Games. Sng also trained for the Aquatic Performance Swim Club in Singapore district, under head coach Jin Xia Li. Sng made his Olympic debut, as a 16-year-old from Singapore, at the 1996 Summer Olympics in Atlanta.
