Swedish Armed Forces Music Corps
The Swedish Armed Forces Music Corps ( sv, Försvarsmusiken, FöMus) heads all bands of the Swedish Armed Forces: the Royal Swedish Army Band, the Life Guards' Dragoon Music Corps and the Royal Swedish Navy Band in Karlskrona and the 25 bands of the Home Guard. ''Försvarsmusiken'' serves the Royal Court, Armed Forces and the Government. It was organized in 2010 as a combined staff of three professional military bands under the armed forces. Life Guards (Sweden)
The Life Guards ( sv, Livgardet, designation LG) is a combined Swedish Army cavalry/infantry regiment. Its responsibilities include the defence of Stockholm as well as provision of the royal guard of honour for the King of Sweden and the Stockholm Palace. With traditions dating from 1521, the regiment is one of the oldest military units in continuous operational existence in the world. It was established in its present form in July 2000, following a merger of the Svea Life Guards and the Life Guard Dragoons. Headquarters are mainly located in Brunna north of Kungsängen in Upplands-Bro Municipality and at the "Cavalry Barracks 1" in central Stockholm. Forsvarets Musikk (FMUS) (English: Defence Music) is the department that oversee all the military bands (''musikkorps'') of the Norwegian Armed Forces (Forsvarets). Music Branch (Canadian Forces)
The Music Branch is a personnel branch of the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF). It is primarily composed of band musicians, and also deals with the selection and musical training of its recruits. The branch encompasses all the military bands in service in the Canadian Armed Forces. It is roughly the equivalent to the Royal Corps of Army Music (CAMUS) in the British Army. The Home Guard – National Security Forces ( sv, Hemvärnet – Nationella skyddsstyrkorna) is a military reserve force of the Swedish Armed Forces. It was formally established on May 29, 1940, during World War II upon popular demand. While originally composed of former militia groups, today it comprises half of the Swedish Army, thus constituting the basis of the territorial defence of Sweden.
