The Swedish Accident Investigation Authority ( sv, Statens haverikommission, or SHK, in English formerly the Swedish Accident Investigation Board) is a Sweden, Swedish Government agencies in Sweden, government agency tasked with investigating all types of serious civil or military accidents that can occur on land, on the sea or in the air. Sveavägen
Sveavägen is a major street in Stockholm, Sweden. Sveavägen originates at Sergels torg in the city district of Norrmalm, and goes north through the Vasastan district toward the border to Solna Municipality and the Haga Park. It is often known as the busiest road in Sweden. Sveavägen follows a straight line from Sergels torg up to Sveaplan and Wenner-Gren Center where it takes a sharp left turn until the junction at Norrtull where it becomes Norra Stationsgatan. West Air Sweden Flight 294
West Air Sweden Flight 294 was a cargo flight of a Canadair CRJ200 from Oslo to Tromsø, Norway that crashed on 8 January 2016. A malfunction in one of the inertial reference units had produced erroneous attitude indications on one of the instrument displays. The crew's subsequent response resulted in spatial disorientation, leading to the loss of control of the aircraft. Both crew members on board were killed. Aircraft and crew The aircraft was built in 1993 and was operated by Lufthansa CityLine as D‑ACLE until the end of 2006. It had a manufacturer's serial number (MSN) of 7010 and had two General Electric CF34-3B1 engines. The Swedish Maritime Administration ( sv, Sjöfartsverket) is the government agency in Sweden which provides services to the transport sector by keeping the sea lanes open and safe. The agency is to a certain degree financed through fees levied on commercial shipping. The main services of the Maritime Administration include: pilotage, maintenance of marine fairways, ice-breaking, hydrographics, maritime search and rescue, seamen's service. It also maintains the lighthouses and other aids to navigation of Sweden. Until 1 January 2009, it also was responsible for maritime safety inspection. Seagoing vessels navigating the Baltic Sea must meet certain ice class requirement. While its mainly deals with merchant shipping, other maritime activities are also taken into account. Skydive Umeå Gippsland GA8 Airvan Crash
On 14 July 2019, a Gippsland GA8 Airvan crashed on a river islet in Sweden, killing all nine people on board. Structural failure of a wing is suspected as the cause of the accident. Consequently, the Gippsland GA8 Airvan was grounded by the Civil Aviation Safety Authority (CASA) in Australia, the Civil Aviation Authority (CAANZ) in New Zealand and the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) in the European Union. The grounding order was issued on 20 July and was due to run until 3 August, but was lifted early as CASA found there was no evidence for an unsafe condition, and the EASA said the wrecked aircraft had been exposed to aerodynamic loads beyond the limits specified in the type-certification basis. 2013 Saltsjöbanan Train Crash
The 2013 Saltsjöbanan train crash occurred in the early morning hours of 15 January 2013. A passenger train started to move without authorization, with only a cleaner on board. It overran a set of buffer stops and crashed into a block of flats in Saltsjöbaden, Sweden. The cleaner was at first suspected of having "stolen" the train, but was later cleared of blame, as the train was found to have started moving because of violation of safety procedures. Incident On 15 January 2013, a Saltsjöbanan commuter train crashed into a residential building in the Stockholm suburb of Saltsjöbaden, seriously injuring a cleaner who was in the train at the time.
