Swedish Academy Finland Prize
The Finland Prize ( sv, Finlandspriset) is a literary award presented annually by the Swedish Academy since 1966. It is awarded to somebody that has done important activities for the Swedish language, Swedish-speaking culture in Finland. The amount was 100,000 crowns in 2007. Literary Award
A literary award or literary prize is an award presented in recognition of a particularly lauded literary piece or body of work. It is normally presented to an author. Organizations Most literary awards come with a corresponding award ceremony. Many awards are structured with one organization (usually a non-profit organization) as the presenter and public face of the award, and another organization as the financial sponsor or backer, who pays the prize remuneration and the cost of the ceremony and public relations, typically a corporate sponsor who may sometimes attach their name to the award (such as the Orange Prize). Lars Huldén
Lars Evert Huldén (5 February 1926 – 11 October 2016) was a Swedish-speaking Finn writer, scholar and translator. Born in Jakobstad, Finland, he was professor at Helsinki university 1964–1989. In 1986 Huldén received an honorary doctorate from the Faculty of Humanities at Uppsala University, Sweden. He was a member of the Norwegian Academy of Science and Letters from 1993. He has researched Carl Michael Bellman, Johan Ludvig Runeberg, Swedish dialects and toponomy. Lars Huldén and his son Mats Huldén translated ''Kalevala'' into Swedish in 1999. Jan-Magnus Jansson
Jan-Magnus Jansson (24 January 1922 – 29 November 2003) was a Finnish politician, a member of the Swedish People's Party. Jansson studied at Svenska normallyceum i Helsingfors and then at the University of Helsinki. Jansson was a Professor of Political Science at the University of Helsinki 1954–74 and chancellor for the Åbo Akademi University 1985 to 1991. He was the chairman of the Swedish People's Party (SPP) from 1966 to 1973 and a minister of trade and industry in Kalevi Sorsa's first government (1 January 1973 - 30 September 1974). Jansson was his party's presidential candidate in the 1982 elections and received 11 electoral votes. Jansson was also the editor-in-chief of ''Hufvudstadsbladet'' from 1974 to 1987. Tua Forsström
Tua Birgitta Forsström (born 2 April 1947) is a Finland-Swedish writer who writes in Swedish. She was awarded the Nordic Council Literature Prize in 1998 for the poetry collection '' Efter att ha tillbringat en natt bland hästar''. Forsström's work is known for its engagement with the Finnish landscape, travel and conflicts within relationships. She often uses quotations in her work, sometimes placing them directly into her poems and at other times using them as introductions or interludes in her sequences. She has used quotations from Egon Friedell, Ludwig Wittgenstein, Hermann Hesse and Friedrich Nietszche. In the collection ''After Spending a Night Among Horses'' () (1997) Forsström uses quotations from the Andrei Tarkovsky film '' Stalker'', they are placed as interludes in a sequence of pieces and sit alone on the page, without direct reference to their source on the page, leaving this to a Notes & Quotations section at the end of the book. Johan Wrede
Johan Otto Wilhelm Wrede (born 18 October 1935) is a Finnish literary historian. He was born in Helsinki. He took his doctorate in 1965 and subsequently worked three years for the Humanist Commission. In 1968 he became a docent of Swedish literature at the University of Helsinki, advancing to professor already in 1969 and serving until 1995. Among his academic specialities were J. L. Runeberg. Wrede served as vice prorector of the University of Helsinki from 1983 to 1989, and was a board member of the Society of Swedish Literature in Finland from 1967 to 2000, the last eight years as chairman. Ulla-Lena Lundberg
Ulla-Lena Lundberg (born 14 July 1947, Kökar, Åland) is a Finland-Swedish author living in Porvoo, Finland. Her Swedish-language books have been translated into several languages, including Finnish, Danish, German, Russian and Dutch. Biography Lundberg made her debut at age 15 with the poetry anthology in 1962. In 1964, she spent some time in the United States on a scholarship. She subsequently wrote of her experiences in the US. Lundberg also wrote a book about Japan after living there in 1968. ''Erik'' Anders Allardt (9 August 1925 – 25 August 2020) was a Finnish sociologist. Allardt served as professor of sociology at the University of Helsinki between 1955 and 1991, and as chancellor of Åbo Akademi University between 1992 and 1994.
