Sven Breugelmans
Sven Breugelmans (born 12 August 1979) is a Belgian former professional motocross racer. He competed in the Motocross World Championships from 1999 to 2008. Breugelmans is notable for being a two-time F.I.M. motocross world championship in the MX3-GP class for 650cc motorcycles. Breugelmans was born in Turnhout, Belgium. In 1999 he competed in the 125cc motocross world championships, finishing the season ranked 31st on a Kawasaki. He switched to riding a Yamaha in the 2000 125cc world championship and improved to 23rd and then finished the 2001 season ranked 12th. In 2003 he joined the Sylvain Geboers Suzuki team to compete in the MXGP class but, a serious injury suffered at the British Grand Prix ended his season. Breugelmans joined the KTM team for the 2004 MX1 world championship for 450cc motorcycles and was ranked 28th at the end of the season. Jacky Martens (born 3 July 1963) is a Belgian former professional motocross racer and current race team manager. He competed in the Motocross World Championships from 1979 to 1997. Martens is notable for winning the 1993 F.I.M. 500cc motocross world championship. Racing career Born in Lommel, Belgium, Martens' first motocross race was in 1979, and by the mid 1980s he made the breakthrough into Grand Prix motocross, originally on a privately entered Honda, before a switch to the KTM factory racing team, culminating in a best result of second in the 500cc motocross world championship in 1991. For 1992 Martens switched to the Husqvarna factory team, riding the fearsome Husqvarna 610 four-stroke machine. Sylvain Geboers (born March 28, 1945) is a Belgian former professional motocross racer and motocross racing team manager. He competed in the Motocross World Championships from 1968 to 1977. Motocross career Geboers was born in Mol, Belgium. He was one of the top motocross racers of the late 1960s and early 1970s, finishing in the top three of the F.I.M. 250cc motocross World Championships for five consecutive years from 1968 to 1972. Although he was often overshadowed by his ČZ and Suzuki teammate, Joël Robert, he was a respected competitor known as a sand track specialist.
