Sven-Ã…ke Jansson
Lieutenant General Sven-Åke Jansson (25 October 1937 – 10 September 2014) was a senior Swedish Army officer. He served as commander of Gotland Military Command (1988–1994) and as Commanding General of the Southern Military District (1994–1998). Career Jansson was commissioned as an officer in 1961 after graduating from the Swedish Armed Forces School for Secondary Education in Uppsala. He was then assigned to the North Scanian Infantry Regiment (I 6) in Kristianstad. As a second lieutenant, Jansson was ordered in June 1962 to Scanian Armoured Regiment (P 2) to serve in its 1st Company. By company commander Captain Folke Sonesson, Jansson received a thorough education on the Centurion tank. Jansson was then entrusted to command the company during the spring exercises in 1963. Ängelholm
Ängelholm is a urban areas of Sweden, locality and the seat of Ängelholm Municipality in Skåne, Scania, Sweden with 42,131 inhabitants in 2017. History The city was founded in 1516 as Engelholm by King Christian II of Denmark, who moved the settlement from Luntertun on the coast because it was difficult to defend. As a founder, King Christian II personally identified the boundaries of the new city, granting the city a charter in 1516. At Luntertun there is only a church garden left today. The town remained small for centuries. Following the Treaty of Roskilde in 1658, Ängelholm, together with the rest of Skåne, was assigned by Denmark to Sweden. The town began to grow in the 19th century due to industrialization. It was also a garrison town until 1883 and had a Swedish Air Force base between 1941 and 2009. Centurion (tank)
The FV4007 Centurion was the primary main battle tank of the British Army during the post-World War II period. Introduced in 1945, it is one of the most successful post-war tank designs, remaining in production into the 1960s, and seeing combat into the 1980s. The chassis was adapted for several other roles, and these variants have remained in service. It was a very popular tank with good armour, maneuverability, mobility, and a powerful main armament. Development of the Centurion began in 1943 with manufacture beginning in January 1945. Six prototypes arrived in Belgium less than a month after the war in Europe ended in May 1945. It entered combat with the British Army in the Korean War in 1950 in support of the UN forces. Scanian Anti-Aircraft Corps
Scanian Anti-Aircraft Corps (, Lv 4) was a Swedish Army anti-aircraft unit that operated between 1941 and 1997. The unit was first based in Malmö and later in Ystad. History Through the Defence Act of 1936, the air defense was given a more independent role in the Swedish artillery, which among other things resulted in a number of anti-aircraft divisions being organized, where, among other things, a division was relocated to Malmö. The division was raised as a preparedness division of Östgöta Anti-Aircraft Artillery Regiment (A 10) on 1 October 1941 under the name Malmö Anti-Aircraft Division (A 9 L). Through the Defence Act of 1942, it was decided to separate the air defense from the artillery, to form its own corps. Lieutenant General Kent Holger Harrskog (born 11 November 1944) is a retired Swedish Air Force officer. He was Chief of Air Force Command from 1994 to 1998 and military commander of the Southern Military District from 1998 to 2000. Early life Harrskog was born on 11 November 1944 in Finspång, Sweden and grew up in Högsjö, Vingåker Municipality. He was the son of Holger Harrskog and his wife Elsa (née Anderson). He passed ''studentexamen'' in Katrineholm in 1964 and joined the Swedish Air Force as an aspirant the same year. Harrskog finished first in his class at the Swedish Air Force Flying School in 1965. Boden (, outdatedly , Lule Sámi: ''Suttes'') is a locality and the seat of Boden Municipality in Norrbotten County, Sweden, with 16,847 inhabitants in 2018. General Staff Corps (, Gst) was an administrative corps within the Swedish Armed Forces between 1937 and 1990 and consisted of Swedish Army officers chosen for duty in the Defence Staff and Army Staff. It replaced the earlier General Staff. History The General Staff Corps was established on 1 July 1937. Besides adjutants and staff adjutants, it consisted of: 1 colonel (also Chief of the Army Staff), 1 colonel, 5 lieutenant colonels, 12 majors and 34 captains.
