Svante Thuresson
Svante Thuresson (7 February 1937 – 10 May 2021) was a Swedish jazz musician. He started his career as a drummer before joining the band Gals and Pals in 1963. Svante won the national selection and represented Sweden in the Eurovision song contest in 1966 with ''Nygammal vals'' ("New, Old-Fashioned Waltz") and came in second place; he performed with Lill Lindfors. In 2007, Thuresson and Anne-Lie Rydé performed at Melodifestivalen 2007 as a duo in hopes of represent Sweden in the Eurovision, but failed to make it to the final. He died from a long-term illness on 10 May 2021, at the age of 84. Som En Dröm
The Swedish entry for the Eurovision Song Contest 1967 was Östen Warnerbring and the song "Som en dröm", composed by Curt Pettersson and Marcus Österdahl and written by Patrice Hellberg. The national selection was for the first time called "Melodifestivalen", a name that remains to this day. Before Eurovision Melodifestivalen 1967 Melodifestivalen 1967 was the selection for the ninth song to represent Sweden at the Eurovision Song Contest. It was the eighth time that this system of picking a song had been used. Approximately 1,800 songs were submitted to SVT for the competition. The final was held in the Cirkus in Stockholm on 24 February 1967, hosted by Maud Husberg and broadcast on Sveriges Radio TV but it was not broadcast on radio. Östen Warnerbring
Östen Warnerbring (22 November 1934 – 18 January 2006), also known as Östen med Rösten (lit. "Östen with the Voice"), was a Sweden, Swedish singer, musician, composer and lyrics writer who mastered several musical genres. He started out as a jazz musician but over the years, he became known as a singer of other popular music, such as schlager music, and of Swedish poetry put into music by himself. In the 1970s, he became one of the first Swedish artists to use his native accent, of the province of Scania (Skåne) in the south of Sweden, also while singing. Early life Warnerbring was born in Malmö. His family lived near the race track Jägersro, and as a child, Warnerbring entertained the racing audience by playing the harmonica to them.
