Suzhou Polytechnic Institute Of Agriculture
Suzhou Polytechnic Institute of Agriculture (SPIA) (simplified Chinese: 苏州农业职业技术学院; traditional Chinese: 蘇州農業職業技術學院) is a provincial public vocational college in Suzhou, China. SPIA was originally the Suzhou Government Agricultural School, founded in 1907 (the 33rd year of Guangxu's reign of the Qing Dynasty). History In 2001, the school was upgraded to a vocational institution of higher learning and hence got its current name. In 2008, SPIA was approved to enter the list of "Demonstrative Higher Vocational Institutions of Jiangsu Province" under-construction. Suzhou (; ; Suzhounese: ''sou¹ tseu¹'' , Mandarin: ), alternately romanized as Soochow, is a major city in southern Jiangsu province, East China. Guangxu Emperor
The Guangxu Emperor (14 August 1871 – 14 November 1908), personal name Zaitian, was the tenth Emperor of the Qing dynasty, and the ninth Qing emperor to rule over China proper. His reign lasted from 1875 to 1908, but in practice he ruled, without Empress Dowager Cixi's influence, only from 1889 to 1898. He initiated the Hundred Days' Reform, but was abruptly stopped when the empress dowager launched a coup in 1898, after which he became powerless and was held under house arrest until his death by poisoning. His era name, "Guangxu", means "glorious succession". The emperor died in 1908 and it was widely suspected at the time that he had been poisoned. The Qing dynasty ( ), officially the Great Qing,, was a Manchu-led imperial dynasty of China and the last orthodox dynasty in Chinese history. It emerged from the Later Jin dynasty founded by the Jianzhou Jurchens, a Tungusic-speaking ethnic group who unified other Jurchen tribes to form a new "Manchu" ethnic identity.
