Suzanne Packer
Suzanne Packer (born Suzanne Jackson on 26 November 1962) is a Welsh actress, known for playing the role of Tess Bateman in the BBC medical drama ''Casualty'' from September 2003 to August 2015. She later returned to the series as a guest for the 30th-anniversary episodes. Since departing from ''Casualty'', she has appeared in various television series including ''Bang'', '' In My Skin'' and ''The Pembrokeshire Murders''. Early life Packer is the daughter of Jamaican immigrant parents to Abergavenny, and her mother worked as a nurse. She is the elder sister of the Olympic hurdler Colin Jackson. While studying at Llanedeyrn High School in Cardiff, she showed an interest in acting, playing the lead in school plays including ''Oklahoma'' and ''The King and I''. ''Oklahoma!'' is the first musical written by the duo of Rodgers and Hammerstein. The musical is based on Lynn Riggs' 1931 play, ''Green Grow the Lilacs''. ''Brookside'' is a British television soap opera, set in Liverpool, England. The series began on the launch night of Channel 4 on 2 November 1982, and ran for 21 years until 4 November 2003. Chortle is a British comedy website launched in 2000 by Steve Bennett. The site is a major source of comedy news in the UK. In each episode four teams of two contestants attempt to find correct but obscure answers to four rounds of general knowledge questions with the winning team eligible to compete for the show's cash jackpot. All questions used on the show are factual in nature and are asked of a panel of 100 individuals in a pre-conducted public survey. A correct answer scores one point for each survey subject who gave it and the objective is to achieve as low a score as possible. "Pointless" answers are correct responses that were not given by anyone surveyed, score zero points and are the most desirable. BiBi Crew, founded in 1991, was the first British comedy troupe to consist entirely of Black actresses. Their work focuses on the Black British experience. History In 1991, Joanne Campbell, Judith Jacob, Janet Kay, Suzette Llewellyn, Josephine Melville, Beverley Michaels and Suzanne Packer founded BiBi Crew in London. According to Jacob and Michaels, the group was founded in response to The Posse, a comedy group made up of Black actors. Michaels saw the troupe perform and thought "there should be a group of women doing this" and contacted the other women involved.
