''Suspense Digest'' is the largest circulated monthly Urdu language suspense magazine in Pakistan. The approximately 290 to 320 pages magazine is published by JDP ( Jasoosi Digest Publications). Ilyas Sitapuri
Ilyas Sitapuri (30 October 1934 – 1 October 2003) was a Pakistani historical fiction writer. He is known for writing historical stories for Sabrang Digest and Suspense Digest. His popular stories and novels include, ''Kashmir Ki Kali'', ''Daastan-e-Hoor'', ''Bala Khanay Ki Dulhan'', and ''Sikandar-e-Azam''. Early life Sitapuri was born as ''Muhammad Ilyas Khan'' on 30 October 1934, in Sitapur, British India. His family belonged to the Yusufzai tribe who had migrated to ''Sitapur'' during the era of Mughal emperor Shah Jahan. In 1952, he migrated to Pakistan and settled in Karachi. Writing career ''Sitapuri'' started his writing career with children stories in the late 1940s. At the age of 16, he penned his first novel, "''Shakar''". ''Devta'' ( ''deotā'', "devata, deity") is a serialized fantasy thriller novel written in the Urdu language by Mohiuddin Nawab. It was published monthly for 33 years in the Pakistani magazine ''Suspense Digest'' from February 1977 to January 2010. Mohiuddin Nawab ( ur, ) (September 4, 1930 - February 6, 2016) was a Pakistani novelist, screenwriter, and poet. He is famous for his popular novel series, " Devta" that was episodically and continuously published in Suspense Digest from February 1977 to January 2010. Devta is an autobiography of a fictional character, ''Farhad Ali Taimur'', who is a master of telepathy and a womanizer. Apart from ''Devta'', ''Nawab'' wrote nearly 600 romantic, social, spy, and historical short/novel-length stories for renowned digests like, Jasoosi Digest, and Suspense Digest. It includes the Jang Group of Newspapers, Dawn Group of Newspapers, and Nawa-i-Waqt Group of Newspapers. History The Pakistan Newspapers Society was established in 1950.
