Susana Santos Silva
Susana Santos Silva (born 3 January 1979 in Porto, Portugal) is a Portuguese jazz and free improvisation musician (trumpet, flugelhorn, and flute). Biography Santos studied jazz trumpet at the Music College in Porto until 2008 and then the Hochschule für Musik Karlsruhe with Reinhold Friedrich, Edward Tarr, Klaus Schuwerk and Klaus Braker, subsequently Jazz Performance at the Rotterdam Conservatory (Diplom 2010), where she played with Eric Vloeimans, Jarmo Hoogendijk and Wim Both. She played in the Orquestra Jazz de Matosinhos (inter alia with Lee Konitz, Chris Cheek, Kurt Rosenwinkel and Maria João as guest musicians in CD productions), in ''European Movement Jazz Orchestra'' (''EMJO Live at Coimbra'', Clean Feed Records 2011) and in the Dutch trio ''LAMA'' (with Gonçalo Almeida and Greg Smith). Joachim Badenhorst (born on October 13, 1981, Antwerp, Belgium) is a Belgian jazz clarinetist and saxophonist, known for his improvisations. Biography He studied at the Royal Conservatory of The Hague with John Ruocco and Michael Moore. Jon Fält
Jon Fält (born 28 August 1979 in Gävle, Sweden) is a Swedish drummer in modern jazz. Biography Fält was raised in Sandviken and had first music lessons with Stefan Bergkvist at the Kulturskolan. From 1990 he played in the ''Sandvik Small Band'' at the school with which he first recorded in 1994. He attended the Jazzgymnasium in Gävle and the Kungliga Musikhögskolan in Stockholm. Sten Sandell
The STEN (or Sten gun) is a family of British submachine guns chambered in 9×19mm which were used extensively by British and Commonwealth forces throughout World War II and the Korean War. They had a simple design and very low production cost, making them effective insurgency weapons for resistance groups, and they continue to see usage to this day by irregular military forces. The Sten served as the basis for the Sterling submachine gun, which replaced the Sten in British service until the 1990s, when it, and all other submachine guns, were replaced by the SA80. The Sten is a select fire, blowback-operated weapon which mounts its magazine on the left. Sten is an acronym, from the names of the weapon's chief designers, Major Reginald V. Shepherd and Harold J. Lotte Anker (born 1958 Copenhagen) is a Danish jazz saxophonist, and composer. With pianist Marilyn Crispell, she serves as one of the co-leaders of the Copenhagen Art Ensemble. Musical career Anker studied music at the Copenhagen University from 1980 to 1984. In 1988, she formed a quartet with piano player Mette Petersen, (the Lotte Anker / Mette Petersen Quartet). In 1992, they added trumpeter Nils Petter Molvær. In 1995, she became a member of the free improvising trio Anker, Friis, Poulsen with Hasse Poulsen on guitar and Peter Friis Nielsen on bass. Christian Meaas Svendsen (born 26 February 1988) is a Norwegian jazz bassist. He has worked with Nakama, Paal Nilssen-Love Large Unit, Mopti, Momentum, Aksiom, Ayumi Tanaka Trio and Duplex. Career Svendsen started his jazz career within Kongsberg Big Band, was a year at Toneheim folkehøgskole and later studied Performing jazz music at the Norwegian Academy of Music (NMH) in Oslo where he did a bachelor in both jazz/improv and classical music.
