Suryakumari
Tanguturi Suryakumari (13 November 1925 – 25 April 2005), also known by her married name Suryakumari Elvin, was an Indian singer, actress and dancer in Telugu cinema. She sang " Maa Telugu Thalliki", the official song of the State of Andhra Pradesh. She was the winner of Miss Madras 1952 pageant and runner-up of the Miss India 1952 pageant. She was the niece of activist and politician Tanguturi Prakasam Pantulu, known as Andhra Kesari, who was chief minister of Madras and Andhra. As an actress, she has won the Outer Critics Circle Award for best actress, for playing Queen Sudarshana, in Rabindranath Tagore’s Off-Broadway play '' The King of the Dark Chamber'' in 1961. Career Suryakumari was a film star at the age of 12, when a special part was written into the film ''Vipranarayana'' (1937) to accommodate her singing talents. ''Krishna Prema'' () is a 1943 musical Telugu film directed by H. V. Babu. Plot Lord Krishna is revered by one and all in Gokulam. Radha's love for Krishna is born out of supreme Bhakthi. But her love was misunderstood by the villagers and her younger sister Chandravali. Chandravali feels that Krishna is responsible for her sister's lonely life and hates him. Chandragopa hates both Radha and Krishna and stays away from Gokulam with his wife Chandravali. Satyabhama is jealous of Radha and dislikes her. Rukmini alone understood both Radha and Krishna. ''Raithu Bidda'' (''English:'' Farmer of Common Origins) ( ''Telugu'': రైతు బిడ్డ, lit. Farmer-Son of the Soil) is a 1939 Telugu social problem film directed by Gudavalli Ramabrahmam. It is a social reformist film during the period of British India, at the time of battle against Zamindari system. The film was banned by the British Administration in the region. Ironically it was produced by one of the Zamindars of the time, '' Challapalli Maharaja''. The film had a public re-release in 1948. Vipranarayana
''Vipra Narayana'' is a 1954 Telugu-language biographical film directed, produced and edited by P. S. Ramakrishna Rao under Bharani Studios banner. It stars Akkineni Nageswara Rao, Bhanumathi, and Relangi with music composed by S. Rajeswara Rao. The film is based on the life of Tamil Vaishnava saint Vipranarayana. He led his life in devotion to Lord Narayana and worked for the Lord by dedicating him with garlands. He is one of the twelve Alvars. The film is also dubbed in Tamil with the same title and released in 1955. Plot Vipra Narayana, a staunch devotee of Vishnu, lives in a hermitage on the banks of the river Kaveri along with his disciple Rangaraju. Maa Telugu Talliki (, IAST: ''Mā Telugu Talliki''; ) is the official song of the Indian state of Andhra Pradesh. The Telugu Thalli is portrayed as a symbol of Telugu people. ''Uran Khatola'' () is a 1955 Indian Hindi-language romantic-drama film produced by music director Naushad and directed by S.U. Sunny. The film stars Dilip Kumar, Nimmi, Jeevan and Tun Tun. Sri Raja-Lakshmi Foundation
The Sri Raja-Lakshmi Foundation is an Indian charitable trust that promotes arts, sciences, literature, medicine, journalism, humanities and other intellectual pursuits and to honour distinguished persons in these fields.
