''Survivors'', is a 2018 Sierra Leonean documentary film co–directed by Banker White, Anna Fitch, Lansana Mansaray Lansana Mansaray (born 1988), often known as Barmmy Boy, is a Sierra Leonean filmmaker. One of the most popular filmmakers in Sierra Leone cinema, Mansaray is best known for the critically acclaimed films ''Youth'', ''Charity'' and ''Survivors'' ..., and Arthur Pratt. The film was co–produced by four directors themselves with Sara Dosa, Samantha Grant, Justine Nagan, and Chris White. The film follows the Ebola pandemic spreading in Sierra Leone that infected 8,704 Sierra Leoneans and killed 3,589 and how the Sierra Leone's heroes eradicate the pandemic. The film received positive reviews and won several awards at international film festivals. The film nominated for the Emmy’s Best Social Issue Documentary in 2018, becoming the first ever West African film to receive the accolade. Banker White
Banker White, is an American filmmaker and film producer. He is best known as the director and producer of the critically acclaimed films '' Survivors'', ''The Genius of Marian'' and ''Sierra Leone's Refugee All Stars''. Personal life His father was Ed White and mother, Pamela Steele White, was a renowned therapist. She died on 6 June 2016 at the age of 69 after suffering from Alzheimer's disease. Banker graduated with a BA from Middlebury College in 1995 and later obtained an MFA from the California College of the Arts in 2000. Banker has two siblings: Devon White Angelini, and Luke White. Banker is married to Anna Fitch, his creative partner. The couple has a daughter Dylan and a son Oscar. Sara Dosa is an American documentary director and producer whose works have received Emmy, Independent Spirit Award and Academy Award nominations and a Peabody win. Her directing work focuses on the human relationship with non-human nature, often exploring themes of interconnection, myth, ecology and economy told through personal character stories. Early life Dosa is a graduate of Wesleyan University and has a master's degree in cultural anthropology and international development studies from the London School of Economics & Political Science where her work focused on critical theory, the anthropology of economy and geographies of power.
