Surabaya–Gempol Toll Road is a toll road in East Java, Indonesia. This highway connects Surabaya City in the north with Porong in the south. This toll road passes Surabaya and Sidoarjo. It is part of the Trans-Java Expressway. The original length of this toll road from Surabaya to Gempol was long, but the part of this toll road is closed due to the overflow of Lapindo Mudflow that has inundated the Porong–Gempol section of the Surabaya–Gempol toll road since 2006. Port of Tanjung Perak ( id, Pelabuhan Tanjung Perak) is the second busiest sea port in Indonesia, located at Surabaya, East Java. It is the main port for the eastern part of the island of Java. The port is accessed from the North through the Madura Strait, a long, wide, and deep channel between East Java and Madura Island. The Sidoarjo mud flow (commonly known as ''Lumpur Lapindo,'' wherein ''lumpur'' is the Indonesian word for mud) is the result of an erupting mud volcano in the subdistrict of Porong, Sidoarjo in East Java, Indonesia that has been in eruption since May 2006. It is the biggest mud volcano in the world; responsibility for it was credited to the blowout of a natural gas well drilled by PT Lapindo Brantas, although company officials contend it was caused by a very distant earthquake that occurred in a different province. At its peak it spewed up to of mud per day. By mid August 2011, mud was being discharged at a rate of per day, with 15 bubbles around its gushing point. Al-Akbar Mosque
Al-Akbar Mosque (; ; ), also known as Great Mosque of Surabaya, is a national mosque located in Surabaya, East Java. It is the second largest mosque in Indonesia after Istiqlal Mosque in Jakarta in terms of maximum capacity. The location of the mosque is beside the Surabaya-Porong Highway Road. Its most distinctive feature is its large vertical dome, accompanied by four small blue domes. It also has a minaret with height of 99 meters, an ode to the 99 Names of Allah.
