Super Wild Horses
Super Wild Horses are a Melbourne-based Australian musical duo formed in 2008. Biography Amy Franz and Hayley McKee, schoolfriends from Perth, Western Australia, Perth, moved to Melbourne to form no-fi band Super Wild Horses following a bratty shouting match in a car. Although initially 'barely being able to play their instruments', 'fashionably of the moment' success was achieved with the aid of Mikey Young of Aarght Records and Eddy Current Suppression Ring recording the debut EP. They became known for loud, raw performances, and their versatility in swapping instruments on stage. Their first album, ''Fifteen'', was released in 2010 as a co release with US record label Hozac HoZac Records and Australia's Aarght Records. It featured in college charts and received good reviews including a favourable Pitchfork mention. No-fi
Lo-fi (also typeset as lofi or low-fi; short for low fidelity) is a music or music production, production quality in which elements usually regarded as imperfections in the context of a recording or performance are present, sometimes as a deliberate choice. Post-punk Revival
Post-punk revival (also known as garage rock revival,J. Stuessy and S. D. Aarght Records
Aarght Records (sometimes stylised AARGHT! Records) was a record label run by Richard Stanley based in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia. The label was started in 2007 by Richard with Mikey Young, Per Bystrom and Jonathan Wilmott, who played together in the band Ooga Boogas. By 2017, Richard ran the label with Jake Robertson, who was part of several Melbourne bands that released music on Aarght, such as Alien Nosejob, Ausmuteants, Hierophants, and Leather Towel. Since its incarnation Aarght has released records by Total Control, Super Wild Horses, Eddy Current Suppression Ring, Ubik, and Nun. In 2009 Maximum Rocknroll called them "one of the finest modern purveyors of punk musics", while Vice wrote Aarght Records was "one of the most important independent records labels in Australia". Eddy Current Suppression Ring (sometimes seen as ECSR) are an Australian rock band formed in 2003. By 2004 their line-up was Daniel Young Danny Current on drums, his brother Michael Young Eddy Current on lead guitar and keyboards, Brendan Huntley Brendan Suppression on lead vocals and Brad Barry Rob Solid on bass guitar. They have released four studio albums, ''Eddy Current Suppression Ring'' (October 2006), ''Primary Colours'' (May 2008), ''Rush to Relax'' (February 2010) and ''All in Good Time'' (December 2019).
