Super School
Super School is a comic strip, which started in November 2008 and is drawn by Lew Stringer. This strip was stated in the book The History of The Beano: The Story So Far as originally having the name ''The Ultras'' in the planning stages, and was inspired by the X-Men. The strip originally features four super powered children (which later became five) and their non-super powered Teacher. The pupils are ''Invisible Isobel'', who as the name suggests can turn invisible; ''Safari Sam'', a shapeshifter who can become any animal; ''Stinkbomb'', who can create any aroma; ''Waterboy'', who as the name suggests can control water (like the Marvel Comics villain Hydroman). During the comic strips run the class gained a new pupil ''Bananagirl'', who is described by The Beano as "like Bananaman Bananaman is a fictional character appearing in British comic books. Lew Stringer
Lew Stringer (born 22 March 1959 in England) is a freelance comic artist and scriptwriter. Biography Stringer began his career from the late 1970s with a series of fanzines, many featuring his popular '' Brickman'' character; these were read by several professional creators (including Kevin O'Neill, Alan Moore and Dave Gibbons) who encouraged Stringer to try comics as a profession and Stringer recalls that "Alan Moore actually introduced me to one of the editors at Marvel UK – Bernie Jaye who was editor on ''The Daredevils''". He sold his first professional cartoon to Marvel UK (the British branch of Marvel Comics) in 1983 where it appeared in ''The Daredevils'' comic, after which he worked for a short time as art assistant to the cartoonist Mike Higgs (creator of ''Moonbird'' and ''The Cloak''). The Beano
''The Beano'' (formerly ''The Beano Comic'', also known as ''Beano'') is a British anthology comic magazine created by Scottish publishing company DC Thomson. Its first issue was published on 30 July 1938, and it became the world's longest-running comic issued weekly in 2018, publishing its 4000th issue in August 2019. X-Men
The X-Men are a superhero team appearing in American comic books published by Marvel Comics, first appearing in Uncanny X-Men, ''The X-Men'' #1 by artist/co-plotter Jack Kirby and writer/editor Stan Lee in 1963. Hydroman
Hydroman is a fictional superhero character who first appeared in comic books from Eastern Color Printing in 1940. Created by Bill Everett, Hydroman first appeared in the premiere issue of ''Reg'lar Fellers Heroic Comics'' (August 1940). History In ''Superhero Comics of the Golden Age'', Mike Benton wrote: Issue #14 (Sept. 1942) introduced Rainbow Boy, who would be Hydroman's sidekick. Bananaman
Bananaman is a fictional character appearing in British comic books. Bananaman is a parody of traditional superheroes, being portrayed as a schoolboy who is transformed into a muscled, caped adult man when he eats a banana. The character originally appeared in ''Nutty'' as the back page strip in Issue 1, dated 16 February 1980 drawn by John Geering. He has since appeared in ''The Dandy'' and ''The Beano''.
