Suntribe
Suntribe was an Estonian girl group that participated in the 50th Eurovision Song Contest in 2005. The original line-up was Mari-Leen Kaselaan, Rebecca Kontus, Laura Põldvere and Jaanika Vilipo. They were later joined by a fifth member, Daana Ots. The group won the pre-selection competition, Eurolaul, with their song "Let's Get Loud", which received 10,583 votes and went on to represent Estonia in the Eurovision Song Contest 2005. Estonia performed in twelfth position in the semi-final of the 2005 Contest which was held in Kyiv, Ukraine on 19 May 2005, but failed to qualify for the grand final after finishing in 20th place. Several members of the band later split to pursue solo careers, with one of the members, Laura Põldvere, returning to the contest in 2017 to represent Estonia with Koit Toome. Estonia participated in the Eurovision Song Contest 2005 with the song "Let's Get Loud" written by Sven Lõhmus. The song was performed by the group Suntribe. The Estonian broadcaster Eesti Televisioon (ETV) organised the national final ''Eurolaul 2005'' in order to select the Estonian entry for the 2005 contest in Kyiv, Ukraine. Nine songs competed in the national final and "Let's Get Loud" performed by Suntribe was selected as the winner entirely by a public vote. Estonia competed in the semi-final of the Eurovision Song Contest which took place on 19 May 2005. Performing during the show in position 12, "Let's Get Loud" was not announced among the top 10 entries of the semi-final and therefore did not qualify to compete in the final. It was later revealed that Estonia placed twentieth out of the 25 participating countries in the semi-final with 31 points. Mari-Leen Kaselaan
Mari-Leen Kaselaan (also known by stage name Mari-Leen) is an Estonian pop artist. She was born on 2 December 1987 in Tartu, Estonia. She graduated from Elva Music School where she played violin and has studied at the Elva Song Studio and Ülenurme Music School under Ursel Oja. Her musical career began as part of the group Ekvivalent, but her breakthrough came thanks to a competition run by the Estonian radio station Skyplus, in which Mari-Leen reached the final. However, she became known among the Estonian public as member of the girl band Suntribe. With Suntribe she represented Estonia at the Eurovision Song Contest 2005 with the song "Let's Get Loud". Mari-Leen started her solo-career with a cover of the Finnish hit '' Levoton Tuhkimo'' by Dingo, titled "Rahutu Tuhkatriinu'". Laura Põldvere
Laura Põldvere (formerly Remmel; born 30 August 1988) sometimes known professionally as simply Laura, is an Estonian singer. She is said to be the most played Estonian artist on Estonian radio in the past decade. She is internationally known for representing Estonia in the Eurovision Song Contest 2005 as part of the girl group Suntribe and did so again in in a duet with Koit Toome, singing "Verona." Career Laura started her career in 2005, when she participated in Eurolaul 2005 with the song "Moonwalk". "Moonwalk" came second, but Laura won the contest as the member of the girl group Suntribe. Suntribe represented Estonia in the Eurovision Song Contest 2005, but failed to advance to the final. Laura also took part at "Eurolaul 2007" for the Eurovision Song Contest 2007, her entry "Sunflowers" came third. Sandra Oxenryd
Sandra Oxenryd (born 1 October 1982) is a Swedish singer who won Fame Factory in 2005, and represented Estonia in the Eurovision Song Contest 2006. Biography Oxenryd was born in Kristinehamn and is a former economics student and floorball player. Aged eleven, she started her singing career by performing on national television. At 18, she placed second in a look-alike competition, where she mirrored Swedish superstar Carola Häggkvist. After winning the Swedish Fame Factory in 2005, Sandra recorded her debut album. The Eurovision Song Contest 2005 was the 50th edition of the Eurovision Song Contest. It took place in Kyiv, Ukraine, following the country's victory at the with the song "Wild Dances" by Ruslana. Organised by the European Broadcasting Union (EBU) and host broadcaster National Television Company of Ukraine (NTU), the contest was held at the Palace of Sports, and consisted of a semi-final on 19 May, and a final on 21 May 2005. The two live shows were presented by Ukrainian television presenters Maria Efrosinina and Pavlo Shylko.
